The decor, layout and position
Spa was a little tired- felt like a public baths rather than an exclusive hotel

Helpful staff
Arrived 10pm on Saturday evening hoping for some refreshments. Bar closed and no room service for a light snack. Reception were only able to sell me a bottle of wine. Latest slot for breakfast on Sunday was 9h15 so I didn't bother although pre paid.

Very good facilities, free parking and nice riverside location. Comfortable newly refurbished room. Very effective aircon.
Although our room had been refurbished to a good standard, it literally took about 10 minutes before any hot water came out of the shower or basin.
The restaurant is in the process of refurbishment so dining was temporarily in the sports bar, where the menu was limited.
It is primarily a sports hotel and the facilities are heavily used by local club members. It didn't bother us particularly but others might think otherwise.

It was a suitable location for my needs and staff were most accommodating even contacting the day before to apologise for problem with the air conditioning and offering an alternative solution
Very kind considerate and professional
The hotel is undergoing significant refurbishment which guests are made aware of before booking on the website
The staff do all that they can to mitigate against this issue
Would benefit from clearer signage for taxis to arrive at the conference reception area ….and not the main entrance ….
