Rose of York

Breakfast was good, large portions. I’d have preferred a smaller portion or continental option. We made our own arrangements elsewhere the next two mornings.

A bigger bathroom, a room away from the road( busy). A room inside the main building. The evening meal was not good quality and therefore not value for money, we ate elsewhere after the first night.

Beautiful location with old fashioned charm. Clean room and comfortable beds. Friendly staff and freshly prepared cooked breakfast. Mini bar with complimentary water. Free parking on site with bus route or short walk to town centre.

Access to room was via external steps which would have been helpful to know in advance. A bit dated and only small fans in room.

The staff was super sweet and kind. The scenery was beautiful.

The internet connection was so poor that it barely existed. The closest restaurant was 15 minutes walk from the hotel and there were no supermarket nearby. The beds were not comfortable.

The location was great and staff were very friendly and helpful

We had a lower level room by the courtyard, there was no blinds at the window so if we had the curtains open everyone could see in the room. The bed was small and there was only one bed side unit. The room was boiling hot even without the heating turned on. The room and facilities are quite aged so could do with a refresh. Walls were thin so much so we could even hear the people next door plugging in their electric items. Very basic for what we paid per night.
