Quick stay but was very comfortable and homely

Very attentive. Lovely host who sat and chatted to us. Clean room and comfy bed. Had all the items you would need for a lovely stay and great location. Breakfast was also really nice and food was cooked to perfection. We did ask for something off menu which was catered for including an upgrade which was confirmed very quickly

Only thing I would have liked is sweeteners in the room. There were some available at breakfast however. Parking is offsite but was cheap and not far away still

Wonderful little B & B

Fabulous accommodation, rooms were really comfortable, very clean, breakfast was super, all very tasty and high quality. Location was perfect even had a sea view and the harbour. Highly recommend.

Would’ve preferred a shower rather than a bath, the bath was a lovely one but I had a injury to my coccyx so getting in and out of it wasn’t easy also really conscious about washing my hair with the hand shower as it was difficult trying not to get any water on the floor.

The best breakfast ever

Best breakfast ever. The poached eggs on smoked salmon was first class, absolutely delicious. The staff/owners were helpful and kind (could leave my bag for a few hours)

The mattress on the bed was excellent quality but too firm for me. Because of this I had hip pain and slept badly. I needed a mattress topper

Parking.

The room was nice and the bed was very comfy. A few cobwebs in the eaves but otherwise clean. The breakfast was nice with a good choice and plenty of extras. The bathroom was large with a roll top bath, the plug was fiddly, wouldn't stay down had to screw it in place.

Before we booked we rang about parking and were told there was free parking, the street above and below. This was not the case, you could park on the street above after 6 pm if there were any places untill 10 am the next morning. When we arrived we were told we could park at a car park just below the b&b this cost £15 for 24 hours as we planned to stay local and we were staying for 4 nights this cost us £60 for the week. I think they should explain this in the booking information, if we had known we wouldn't have stayed there. I think they should organise a parking permit for people who are staying.

Lovely people, excellent room

Excellent,, excellent room, staff, cleanliness, and a most excellent breakfast. We also went for our evening meal, and the staff were amazingly helpful, in sorting out a vegetarian meal for me , five stars.

Not being able to park close by, but at the bottom of the hill,,, we were able to drive up and drop off our bags, but it still left us with a hill to climb, not so helpful in our later years, however,, very worth the climb…

Highly Recommended.

We could not have asked for more. The owners are very friendly, the room vast, extremely well equipped, clean and super-comfy. The breakfast was also superb, and lots of nice veggie and vegan options. Again, the staff super helpful and friendly. The location is extremely convenient. That does mean parking nearby is not as straightforward as if further out, but we had no problem at all finding short-stop and off-peak spaces very close to the Olive Branch. We would definitely recommend here if looking for a luxury B&B.

Really nice stay at The Olive Branch.

Really pleasant owners who made us feel very welcome. Great room(1) with a view. Good breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed the sea shanty group that practice here every Thursday.

The stairs up to the top floor and our room would be an issue to some. Be aware when booking room(1) has only a bath option. Nice bath though.

brilliant stay at the Olive Branch. marvellous room, excellent food and great staff

the bedroom was amazing with three different views of ilfracombe - all splendidly composed in the windows. the bed and mattress were really good too. the breakfast and food in the bistro were excellent they were very flexible about evening meal as I am vegetarian and my wife didnt want much!

the bathroom and shower could be improved. there is a need for a non slip mat to fit into the bath when having shower. or a handle or bar to hold onto when getting in and out of the bath. otherwise it was great.

Recommend

The Olive Branch occupies a historic building in the middle of Ilfracombe and I enjoyed my one night stay there as I passed through on the coast path. All the staff were very friendly. The room was clean, comfortable and peaceful. I especially enjoyed the breakfast which was generous and varied. I would recommend a stay here to anyone.

Comfortable and Friendly

Ian and Jo were very welcoming and friendly. My request for an early breakfast was accommodated and they both helped me to get off early to catch my train. My room was lovely and clean and I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I arrived tired and hungry after cycling 40 miles, I left the following morning well rested and refreshed.

Very enjoyable. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, nicely decorated and the beds comfortable. The location is very convenient for the town centre but also quiet - no busy traffic.
