good value and very comfortable

I had the single room. Getting the entry codes on the day worked very well. The room was warm and comfortable. The bed and pillow exceeded expectations and I had a good nights sleep. I always carry ear plugs when staying away and it seems they worked well as I didnt hear the chiming bells as others did. I helped cook breakfast for 12 fellow travellers and the kitchen facilities were very good and met our needs.

The location is excellent and easy to find. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.

There is no on site parking, although there is a public long stay car park very close by

Difficult to find Very rickety stairs up three flights to top floor Small shared shower room Being given rules on white board on arrival Room smaller than expected , over marketed on Booking.com Appears as a Hostel for all ages online , obviously for students and not a couple walking SWCFootpath . Please don’t fall into trap of thinking this will be ok for one night .

A great overnight stay whilst on the coastal path

Location is excellent. Facilities good for a backpacker hostel. Staff friendly.

Couldn’t find the kitchen light switch for early breakfast! Needs a sign. Remember your earplugs for the pesky seagulls and hourly church bells.

Comfortable hostel with good kitchen facilities.

Good location in centre of Ilfracombe. We had private en-suite double room which was comfortable and adequate for our needs. We were starting the Devon C2C cycle the following day and they had space available to lock bikes in the cellar (NB low ceiling height)

Next to the cburch which chimes every hour which wakes the seagulls up, so it's quite noisy

Lovely property, very nicely decorated. Great facilities inside and very clean as well.

Nothing wrong with the property, the only downside is the £15/day for parking in the car park behind. Although I’m sure there are some free/cheaper options nearby as well

No hot water, rooms very basic, clock striking every hour outside widow, I in very tired. Sink over toilet. Shower did not drain, decoration poor with pealing pain above bed. Very dates and old mix match of lights and furniture. Ok but way overpriced

Worth it when on budget

Location was great

Water in the shower didn't drain which was pretty gross. Also showered twice and in one of the days there was not hot water. Also sink in the toilet itself was uncomfortable.

Perfect well equipped base to explore Ilfracombe

Really pleasant chilled atmosphere, fully equipped kitchen and entertainment. Location is brilliant would definitely recommend and the staff go above and beyond.

A fantastic hostel for the budget-conscious.

Alex at reception was super friendly and helpful. Any small problems were dealt with immediately and with great good humour. Check-in arrangements out of hours were excellent. Some rooms have en-suite but most do not - this is as expected in a hostel. Cleanliness was outstanding. Common areas included a lovely lounge and well-equipped kitchen with a great system for re-using left-overs from other guests and regular clear-out of the fridge. The location is superb - right near the Quay if you are arriving/leaving on the Lundy ferry. Towel hire available for £2 each, which was very welcome for those of us travelling light. No problem leaving bags for storage if necessary during the day of departure. The owners have recently invested in upgrading the hostel and it really shows.

Location can be noisy in the late evening due to nearby pubs and in the morning due to seagulls!

Probably the most friendly hostel I've been to!

You're smack bang in the middle of town so location for price was amazing. A bus stop is less than a minute walk away which was super helpful for me as I was doing a lot of bus catching and meandering in the area. Hostel has a lovely wee communal living room and kitchen (fully stocked with amenities to use for cooking) that feels so homey. Bathroom facilities are clean and well maintained. Plenty of space for bags in dorm rooms with the option of a locker. Jimmy, the manager, was so friendly and welcoming and really set the tone for the hostel's atmosphere.This made the stay so much better as a solo female traveller- probably one of the most friendly hostels I've ever stayed at.
