La Montaña Bali & Spa

The views, the peace, the sounds of the jungle, the host, what an experience La Montana is. The views are just awe inspiring, looking over dense jungle to Munduk in the west and Lovina to the north. You really have to just go to understand the spectacle. The room was comfortable and very well decorated, and the views from the bathroom at night, wow ! Stars above you and the lights of the villages far below. Ketut is probably the nicest man in Bali. From breakfast and dinner chef, to botanist and tour guide/taxi, nothing is too much for him, just ask. At breakfast and dinner he just keeps the food coming, until you say stop. Simple Indonesian food sourced from his own farm. His knowledge of local plants, trees, berries, fruits is amazing, he has a real passion for sharing that with his guests. He will run you anywhere you want to go, whenever you want to go. He can advise on the best local waterfalls, jungle treks and villages to visit and when to go to avoid crowds. The man is a marvel and it's worth the trip just to meet him, and experience his enthusiasm.

You can't really walk anywhere. The location is remote and you really are high up in the mountains, so everywhere is very steeply uphill or steeply downhill. Hence the spectacular views. So you need transport to see the local sights, or Ketut is always on hand and more than happy to run you around.

Clean and comfortable, having a bath is a great added extra for this affordable accommodation. The view from the rooms are fabulous

The view from the room and bathroom is amazing. The house is next to cloves plantation and hilly surroundings. A very nice place to stay for 'sleep therapy' or to work quietly. There is an open small kitchen for guests to prepare their own meals. Pak Ketut, the owner is friendly and always helpful to the guests.

The stair to go upstair could be adjusted to Indonesian people height.

We had a such a lovely time at La Montana ! The room has a nice view, was calm, super clean, brand new and decorated with style. The bed was confortable. Ketut, the owner, and his daughter Ilo are awesome, very kind, they helped us with all our needs at all time ! We highly recommend the place, it is a true hidden gem, close to all the activities we wanted to do in the area : great waterfalls, trekking, canoe on the lakes etc. You will not regret it !

With unbroken mountain views all the way down to the coast dozens of kilometres away and perched above handful of waterfalls literally only 5-7 minutes away I couldn't have been more pleased. Bapak was amazingly accommodating and beyond helpful in everyway. The home is spectacular and is still a family home surrounded by working mountain garden (vanilla, cloves, cinnamon etc). Tours and pick-up from airport are also available, in fact nearly anything you need or would like will be made available for you.

This is not a complaint just a heads up for those driving themselves. Please be careful on the mountain roads, sometimes it is best to have a driver like the host to take you for safeties sake.

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abseits in der sehr ruhigen, entspannten und traumhaften Natur. Kedud ist ein toller herzlicher Gastgeber, welcher einem bei allem sehr zuvorkommend unterstützt. Besonders seine Fahrdienste waren sehr wertvoll, um trotz der Abgeschiedenheit überall hinzukommen (& dies ohne extra Kosten!). Das Frühstück, wie auch ein Nachtessen, wenn man mal nicht mehr raus mag, sind lecker. Wir fühlten uns mehr als nur willkommen und wohl in diesem Homestay. PS. Die Massagen lohnen sich ebenfalls, wir hatten ein Familien-Treat genommen 😊

Wer das balinesische Leben, die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sucht, der ist hier genau richtig. Wer im Zentrum von allem sein möchte, für den ist es zu weit von diesem entfernt. Die Zimmer und Bäder könnten etwas aufgefrischt werden, doch alles in allem passt die Unterkunft.

La chambre est simple et propre. La vue est magnifique. Le petit déjeuner est très bien. Possibilité de dîner sur place, très pratique. L’endroit est un peu exentré donc il faut un scooter (possibilité de louer sur place ) ou faire appel à un taxi. Les cascades ne sont pas loin. Prévoir un petit gilet car c’est la montagne, soirée plus fraîche. Le plus gros plus de ce logement, c’est Ketut le propriétaire. C’est la personne la plus adorable que nous ayons rencontré. Il est aux petits soins pour ses guests. Une belle rencontre qui vaut vraiment le coup d’aller à La Montana 😊

Ketut ist ein ganz netter und fürsorglicher Gastgeber, der sich um alles kümmert, damit sich seine Gäste wohlfühlen. Er bereitete uns jeden Tag ein leckeres Frühstück mit Toast, gebratenen Eiern, Früchten und den besten "fried bananas" auf Bali zu. Und wenn man abends in der Unterkunft essen will, Ketut kann auch kochen. Er organisierte uns ein Moped und gab uns tolle Tipps für Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Als wir bei einer Wanderung vom Regen überrascht worden sind, hat er uns ganz selbstverständlich mit dem Auto abgeholt und uns einen guten balinesischen Kaffee serviert. Unbedingt auch das Angebot von Ketut für ein SPA nutzen. Es war hervorragend und das Beste, was wir in Bali hatten. Das La Montana hat nur 2 Zimmer. Die Aussicht vom Balkon ist wunderschön. Und wer nachts einen richtig schönen Sternenhimmel sehen will, ist hier genau richtig. Das Zimmer ist riesig und blitzblank. Es fehlt an nichts. Man fühlt sich wohl. Durch die Lage in den Bergen benötigt man unbedingt einen Roller. Munduk erreicht man in 15 Min. An den Twin Lakes ist man in 10 Min. Wer nicht Roller fahren will, Ketut organisiert auch ein Auto mit Fahrer oder fährt selbst. Die Umgebung von Munduk ist wunderschön und unbedingt einen Besuch wert. Zum Abendessen hat uns Ketut mit dem Auto gefahren und auch wieder abgeholt. Somit war für uns die abgeschiedene Lage überhaupt kein Nachteil. Wir können das La Montana und den liebenswerten Ketut wärmstens empfehlen. Danke Ketut für die wunderschönen Tage, die wir im La Montag verbringen durften.

Mir war das Bett etwas zu weich. Aber das ist meine persönliche Meinung.

Très bel établissement et très propre. Ketut est un hôte vraiment très gentil, très souriant et très arrangeant . Nous rencontrons très peu de personne comme lui sur notre chemin ❤️ Il nous a très bien conseillé sur ce que l’on pouvait faire aux alentours et grâce à lui notre séjour a été parfait . De plus, durant nos deux semaines de voyages , c’est les meilleurs petit déjeuner que nous avons mangé à Bali 🙏😋 le scooter est indispensable pour aller au centre de Munduk (environs 15 minutes)

Ketut und seine Nichte sind supertolle, sehr herzliche Gastgeber. Wir haben uns zusammen mit unserer 2-jährigen Tochter riesig wohl gefühlt ☺️ Es gibt ein leckeres, reichhaltiges Frühstück und die Option auf Abendessen. Die Zimmer haben einen traumhaften Blick. Nirgendwo auf Bali haben wir eine größere Hilfsbereitschaft gefühlt.

La Montana liegt etwas abseits, man ist also recht schnell auf Roller, Mietauto oder Taxi angewiesen. Auch hier ist Ketut total hilfsbereit und fährt selbst oder organisiert einen zuverlässigen und achtsamen Fahrer. Trotzdem lässt sich in naher Umgebung viel entdecken - Regenwald Wanderung, Kanu fahren, Tempel, Kaffeeplantagen, schöne Cafés mit Ausblick.. wir haben es sehr genossen und hätten auch gut noch länger bleiben können 😊

Accueil chaleureux de notre hôte dans sa maison en plein cœur de la forêt près de Mundunk. La chambre est spacieuse et très propre. Nous avons bénéficié d’une écoute très attentive et bienveillante de la part de notre hôte qui nous a prodigué de bons conseils pour visiter les sites alentours et trouver un super chauffeur . Il propose une cuisine simple mais de qualité.

Le réseau wifi est fluctuant.

Sehr toller Ausblick auf umliegenden Wald und Berge, ruhige Lage. Schönes geräumiges Zimmer mit guter Ausstattung und angenehmen Bett. Das Frühstück ist gut und üppig. Der Host Ketut ist ein extrem netter und hilfsbereiter Mensch. Er hat unseren Aufenthalt wirklich schön gemacht. Er hilft bei allen möglichen Anliegen: Scooter, Wäsche, Driver, etc. Er kocht auch gut wenn man mal Hunger hat.
