Art&Flats Hostel

I really enjoyed my stay here. I was pleasantly surprised after reading a mix of reviews. Since it is only for stays of 11+ days, it is more like a coliving space than a hostel. All of the guests were ~30-65 years old from all over and everyone was very friendly and down-to-earth, nobody uncomfortable at all. The staff were also very friendly and around most of the day. The most important things were kept clean all of the time which made this place a great value: toilets and sinks, kitchen, floors in shared areas. There are a lot of good places for working and the air conditioning is always working. FYI, I would not pay extra just to have a window in your room because you can't see out the windows and the outside is smelly. I don't think there is laundry here but there is a laundromat nearby that is very easy to use.

Some things were not provided/cleaned that made the experience not as good. These things seem like they would be easy and cheap to fix and make this a great accommodation. The walls were extremely dirty in my room but I think a Mr Clean eraser would have made them as good as new. Also, there is nowhere in the room to hang your towel even though it is humid, so hooks would be useful. In the shower, there was mold growing and the calcium buildup on showerheads made them not work properly even though it is easy to clean. Since there is a humidity problem in the bathroom, run the de-humidifer every day instead of just a couple days a week.

Not a social hostel at all! Was hoping there was a place to chat with others but the kitchen was the only area and not orientated for connecting with other people. Needs more of a space with couches or bean bags where people can meet and play games together or whatever. That is usually the best part about a hostel
