Very peaceful and awesome place in downtown Nusa Penida

It was very good, I was only supposed to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 4. It was super chilled and peaceful The staff was very friendly The breakfast was very basic

The pool is used at night, so if someone decides to go there and just chat away throughout the night, you’ll hear everything

Good and safe location

Location is walkable to and from the port. Price a bit on the high side. Room looks good but cant look into details. Staff is helpful although their english is not that good.

Water quality and pressure is poor. Hot water is limited but you are in an island so couldn’t ask for more. Breakfast is just so so, Bedsheet got a few stained which the staffs claimed they’re from the sunscreen. One of room lamp is not working. Additionally just want to record this small incident as my flight was delayed and unable make it to nusa penida on the same day, informed the staff however they refused to help and make changes of my date of travel after payment. Although it was settled with booking.com after the trip, it got me very frustrated at that time.

Property is on good location and staff is polite.

Breakfast is decent. Portions are small, i would recommend to avoid taking breakfast. After Nusa Penida we were going to Gili Air and Staff offered to book fastboat for us. They done that but they didn’t communicate well with hotel driver so we missed fastboat and waited additional 3 hours for next one.

Has a rat problem

The staff were quite friendly

I really can't recommend this place, I woke up to rats eating my clothes in my suitcase and then scuttled under the bed when I opened it. destroyed two t shirts and chewed through the suitcase fabric. There was also no soap and very little toilet paper in the bathroom. The safe didn't work and the coffee mugs were dirty.

Please clean it properly

Staff members smile a lot

We stayed at JnJ Guest House for 3 nights as a group of six, and unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the rooms were not maintained properly. All rooms were dirty and dusty, some walls were moldy and bathrooms with visible water stains and buildup. Our particular room was especially filthy, and the toilet was in a terrible condition. To make it worse, our air conditioning wasn’t working from the beginning. We reported the issue right away, and while a staff member arranged for someone to check it, we were told to wait 20 minutes after they “fixed” it. After waiting, there was no improvement. We let them know this was unacceptable, and a manager eventually got involved. He called us, apologised and offered us a temporary room for the night on the condition that we evacuate it in the morning. In the meantime, they promised to fix the AC in our original room. The air conditioning was finally fixed around 6 PM, and we had to wait by the pool until then—essentially losing the use of our room for the day. The overall condition of the guest house is extremely poor. Everything looks worn out, dirty, and cheap. Even the TV didn’t work—no signal, no channels. The photos online are completely misleading and do not reflect the current state of the property. Entry to swimming pools is very slippery probably due to poor maintenance and algae build-up. We were truly disappointed with our stay. This place needs serious improvement in cleanliness, maintenance, and honesty in its online presentation.

Dissapointing

I really wanted to like this hotel. It has potential, but needs some serious improvements to be considered good. The good: rooms look very nice at first glance. The airconditioning works perfectly. The staff is generally quite nice.

It was not clean. The bathroom needs some serious deep cleaning, and the towels and sheets are very stained. The bathroom also smells really bad - moldy and like sewer. Lastly, the breakfast was dissapointing.

Pleasant short stay; friendly host

We especially appreciated the high price/quality value of this hotel. It was the cheapest hotel during our trip in Bali and we did not see an extreme "downgrade" in our stay with respect to other hotels/villas in Ubud and Gili islands. Mariano was an excellent host and took great care of us. Swimming pool was nice.

It is important to highlight that the touristic infraestructure of Nusa Penida is not as developed as the one in Bali. Although we did not have stained sheets or overwhelming sewage smell (as written in other reviews), hygiene has margin for improvement, especially in the toilet. Breakfast had limited options but it was OK for us.

Ok hotel

The hotel is very nice, the staff was nice and tried to help. Location is also ok, not too far from the center.

The room had a very strong smell of mold, the bathroom too. The AC was not working properly, we asked the staff to check it but i am not sure they did anything. The WiFi didn't work at times and had very weack signal. Breakfast was average. But it's good value for money.

Feels like a hotel. The pool is clean, breakfast was very good, room was clean and comfy, all areas were nicely illuminated at night. The area and alley are also illuminated, You feel safe. Owner was very helpful with drivers for tours and daily transport.

Mariani is such a great and kind host. The accommodation is extremely clean and tidy, and the location is great, only a few hundred meters from the harbor. Totally recommend it, you won’t be disappointed :)

Lovely stay

Spacious room, clean and nice pool, guest house was also close to port. Staff were exceptionally friendly, they booked our boat back to Bali and scooter which was a great add. Breakfast was good and could choose each day from an assorted menu.

Maybe an extractor fan in the bathroom would have been a good addition.

Room was clean and modern. Yes there was construction taking place but this never really bothered us. Staff were excellent and good restaurants within walking distance

Lovely staff with pretty good location (close to the port)

The host, Luh, was so helpful and always available. She specifically asked us to message her as she had a small child to tend to at home yet she still managed to always reply and even come back to the guest house if needed. She even helped us get a driver for our day trip. She also asked us if we wanted our room cleaned every single day.

The bathroom had a very strong smell of mold and even the room at times. Unfortunately, the only place that could get some fresh air in was the entrance sliding door which you couldn't really keep open as a lot of bugs, mosquitos, etc., would get in. There were spider webs on the room's ceiling. We also didn't know there was a construction project on the other side of the yard. This wasn't a problem for us as we got up early so the noise didn't affect us but it could annoy others. Breakfast was as basic as it gets and not a lot of variety.

Comfortable stay in Penida

Nice and clean accomodation conveniently located in Nusa Penida. The staff were great, helpful and easy to contact. We were able to hire at scooter at the place for 75K. Pool are is nice and comfortable. There’s room service every day of you want.

Breakfast wasn’t varied, and the eggs were very dry all the time. I’d suggest to include pancakes or a smoothie bowl or bowl of fruits. The options were omelette, scramble eggs, fried noodles & toast with Jam. even adding fried eggs (sunny side up) would be great. Also adding the option of juice. There is a construction at the other side of the pool to build no rooms but it wasn’t very noisy when we stayed.

Close yo the harbour.

Luh the person in charge of the guest house, was very kind and helpful.

They did not have spare power adaptors. Mine got broken during my travel. My phone got discharged as you will need to use your gps a lot in the island. When request one they gave me a broken one too. I have to ask to the guest next door on the end. I rent also a scooter whose brakes were broken, my partner and me also got a crash because of that. If you going to to rent a scooter please be mindful that the island is full of hills, there is a lot of bikes and also cars that does not care about anyone driving.

Mariani, the owner, takes care of all the guests herself personally. She was really lovley , helped us to book boat ticket, we could contact her any time before and during our stay.
