The family did everything they could to help us having a good experience in Nusa Penida. Very grateful.
The first time you go there, it's a bit tricky to find.

I had a great stay here. The place was very clean and comfortable, with all the facilities exactly as described. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, and the breakfast was fresh and enjoyable each morning. Location-wise, it’s very convenient, just a short walk from the port, which made getting around really easy. What really stood out was the staff, everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and kind, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed and welcoming stay!

Amazing value for money! Stayed in private room with my partner and was perfect for the price also had breakfast included which was ace! Unfortunately I cannot remember the main lady working at reception and who made us breakfast but she was so lovely and kind very welcoming and helped organise tour of the east of the island could not recommend more for people travelling on a budget

I stayed in a shared room with a private bathroom. Everything was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the beds had curtains for privacy. You also get a locker with a key.
There was no hot water, and the breakfast was very basic—one of the poorest I’ve had, even though I always pay extra for convenience.
If you just want a place to sleep, it’s okay. But for breakfast, motorbike rental, or any extras, it’s better to spend your money elsewhere.
You can rent a motorbike at the hostel for IDR 80,000 per day, which sounds convenient, but my experience was frustrating. I rented it the first day after 3 p.m. and only used it for 2 hours, but still had to pay for the full day. The fuel was almost empty, and I asked three times if it was okay. Each time, they said it was fine. The next day, the tank was completely on red. Again, I asked, and they told me not to worry.
I trusted their word, but I ended up stranded. I only had IDR 50,000 in cash, which I gave to a kind woman who brought me petrol so I could return. The hostel gave me no apology—just blamed me, saying it was my responsibility, even though I clearly asked about the fuel three times before leaving.
In the end, I paid for two full days of rental and also for the petrol myself. Their only comment was: “This is a learning experience.”
Yes, it was—now I know not to rent motorbikes here again.

The host was super friendly and helpful
The hostel offers packages like snorkeling for a fair price
You can easily rent a bike through the hostel to explore the island
Breakfast was good and alternated when I was there (one day toast with scrambled eggs, another day a pancake, etc)
Water pressure in the shower is too low when multiple people are showering at the same time

Walking distance to the habour.
The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is simple but very good with this price
Room is big but blanket given is too thin. And there are insects and lizard in the room.

A tiny walk in the dark if you get there in the middle of the night. Check location on Google maps

There were people around the area burning rubbish outside, and the smoke entered our room through the door cracks. The entire room was filled with smoke, and we couldn’t sleep the whole night. This may be a serious concern for future guests.
The staff and services were good.

Good location, short walking distance for meals and convenience store. The caretaker was delightful and enthusiastic, can assist on many things, such as bike renting, laundry, boat to Sanur, tour ticket, etc.

Nice and cozy place near the harbour and main road, but also quiet because it is in the middle of a small forest.
The guesthouse offers a wide range of services such as laundry, motorbike rental, island tours and ferry tickets. The breakfast is included and the staff is kind enough to accommodate our vegetarian diet.
The staff is very kind, friendly and helpful.
The rooms are very clean and spacious.
It didn't bother us, but there is a mosque nearby.
Also, if you have to work, the WiFi signal isn't strong.

Nice location close to the harbour. Staff were super friendly and were able to do laundry and organise a scooter and a snorkelling trip for us. Place was really stylish and the rooms super spacious

Icha is our superwoman.. Very hands on, warm and helpful. So is her aunt citiz. Icha picked us up in her bike from the ferry point. That was very helpful as locating citiz house for first timers can be challenging. It is inside nestled in a quiet place surrounded by coconut trees yet accessible to everything- banjay nyuh harbour ( 10 mins walk), several eateries serving different types of cuisines with plenty options even for vegetarians. She also arranged for our scooty, snorkeling trip. One stop go to person. The room is superrr neat with all required amenities with a lovely sit out area. Provision to hang washed clothes, garden, hammock. Very relaxing vibe. Loved the place. Made our nusa penida stay more worthwhile. - Savita and Rajiv

It’s close to the Harbor and the owner is extremely kind and makes great tasting pancakes for breakfast :)
It’s pretty hard to find, you can enter through a way on the right of the double g guesthouses one, you have follow the way through a hole in a fence on the right. We didn’t have the greatest blanket, if you can call it blanket.

Nothing to be honest !! The room was “normal” but has nothing to do with the experience I had
First the location. It’s in the middle of “the bush” or whatever I can call it. The tiny path to get access to the house was so dirty, tiny, has no lights during the night and as a solo woman traveler, I felt unsafe for the first time in Indonesia.
But let’s talk first about the facilities, the room was “okay” to stay in one or 2 nights but I booked 8 nights and first my back was killing me because of the quality of the bed, the shower is blocked after 9pm so you can’t have a shower late and the water pressure is weak. I was diving every day and it was almost impossible to wash my tick hair with their pressure. The breakfast was so mediocre, they served me 2 slices of toasted bread with cheese but the bread was so “hard” to eat and it cut that I couldn’t eat it.
But that’s okay I have decided to not really focus on that, until one day around 8pm starting walking on this dark little street, 3 children/ teenagers followed me.
I stoped and looked back, they’ve hidden themselves behind the trees and one of them saw me and did a gross s***al gesture watching me and started laughing. My first reaction was to get back quickly to the Main Street and stoped there.
They kept themselves not far away waiting for me to move again on the little street.
I immediately contacted the manager of the house and she said she was on the bathroom she couldn’t come and get me from the Main Street. I had to ask someone to walk me to my accommodation and the manager didn’t even bother herself asking me if I was okay. I left the following morning as I couldn’t stay longer not feeling safe. I lost 5 paid nights and the property didn’t want to pay me back. Shame on you !!! This is the first unsafe experience I have in Indonesia after years and years traveling around the globe.

Location close to the harbor
Not very clean and bathroom had a smell which made the room smell like moth balls. While the staff was nice, they really need to clean better. There was someone’s chips bag in the drawer , the bathroom was rusting, didn’t have hot water or pressure one night (I know that’s due to the island issue if they don’t have their own tank and you need to shower before 9pm to get it), ants in room but it’s an island and that may happen. Definitely needs new bathroom upgrade and cleanliness

This was the best place I stayed on my 20 day trip to Indonesia. Citiz and Anisa are the kindest and most helpful hosts ever. It really felt like staying with family instead of in a guesthouse. The breakfasts were great, free unlimited water refills, and they helped me organize a guide and motorbike tour for 2 days. The room is large, comfortable and clean. It's a quick walk to many good restaurants (both Indonesian and International options). I'd love to stay here again!
Nothing. It is a little bit tricky to find the first time, but they put up signs and all the neighbors were helpful with directions.

Loved everything about citiz homestay. We stayed only for a night but our stay was made memorable by mam and her niece iccha. Location is very near to Toya pakeh port. We are 3 girls and we were thrilled after a tripling ride to their place on the day we arrived :). Spacious rooms, hot shower and delicious breakfast. I asked Mam to arrange for our GILI T tickets for next day and next day we didn't have to worry about anything. Iccha dropped us one by one to the port and also got our tickets to Gili. I was so relaxed on this trip after a long time . Thanks a lot for the hospitality. Next time we shall definitely stay for long and explore the island with Iccha. Highly recommended. Go ahead with the booking :)

We booked a snorkeling trip, a scooter for a day as well as a car with driver to get to Diamond beach. Everything was organized for us.
The facilities is quite dated and could do with some updates.

We had a fabulous time at Citizs homestay! On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Anisa (who makes the best banana pancakes and toasties for breakfast). Our room was clean, quiet and the bed was super comfy.
Anisa is an amazing host and really became our friend by the end of our stay. We were truly sad to leave this place; we loved it so much. I would highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

The staff could not have been more kind and friendly. Also, the location is perfect, only 10 minutes away from the port, and only reachable on foot or by scooter.

Everything! Perfect for a short stay near the harbour. I also asked the owner to arrange a day tour for me, and it was great! The room was huge and breakfast was nice. I like the quiet little yard. Highly recommend it!

We had a great two nights stay. The host Icha is so nice and helpful. We booked a scooter and our ferry tickets with her and she brought us to the ferry port! We had eggs one morning and yummy pancakes the next! Hot showers and good ac. Great value
It's hard to find at the start when following google maps but once you know it's fine!

The property was clean and rooms were very well kept. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Icha was great and was my tour guide making it a very enjoyable experience.
The path way to the property is difficult to find and has a lot of rubbish which isn’t a great look. Also the property is close to the local mosque so I woke up at 5am with the call to prayer. This isn’t the property’s fault and nothing they can do about it.

Location was amazing quick walk from the ferry to Citiz house she even picked us up on the scooter when we were lost trying to find it!
Citiz went above and beyond and even gave us a scooter lesson in her yard so we could rent her scooter to go visit diamond beach and kelingkling.
The room was great comfy bed with AC and shower. For the price this was a great deal.

The owner is lovely. The room was perfect (we have been in another homestays in Indonesia and this one was the best) is the same of the photos, very clean and very spacious. The breakfast changes all days so is amazing and very good. Location is so good because you are close to the center but a little bit apart of noise. We love it, and we will go again if we come back.

Simple clean accommodation with AC and lovely quiet verandah to sit on, great location as central and staff were very informative and knowledgeable - I can also second taking a day scooter tour with them as well as their snorkeling trip; covered all the main points and much cheaper than I was quoted elsewhere
A blanket or top sheet other than that provided would have been great but it was hot!

Host is super friendly and welcoming! Breakfast was great and the small garden was really calming, felt peaceful just lying there.
The entrance is a bit hard to find, recommend to contact the host to let them pick you up. Besides that everything is great!
