Excellent location great value for money Clean and friendly

Great value for money and SO close to the port. Within walking distance We didn’t like any of the choices of breakfast so popped across the road to Alily which was great ! Loved the fact that coffee was complimentary and available all day. Staff very friendly. Would stay again

Nice

Our stay was positive. We stayed for only one night, and the proximity to the pier was one of the hotel’s main advantages, along with its good value for money. As we left early in the morning before breakfast time, the staff kindly prepared a takeaway breakfast for our trip. We really appreciated the care and attention from the staff. Although the hotel appears newer in the photos, it is still worth the experience overall.

The location is very good

The room wasn’t clean, they didn’t change the bed sheets, I found a hair from the previous guests, It was disgustingly. The bath towels are poor quality and the pillows wasn’t very comfortable.

DIRTY

Not much.

Unfortunately, our stay at Akatara Hotel was extremely disappointing and a complete waste of money. The apartment was dirty, poorly maintained, and did not feel comfortable or welcoming at all. Because of the condition of the room, we felt that we had to spend most of our time out of the apartment, rather than enjoying the space we paid for. The reception experience made things worse. Ryan, who worked at reception, was rude and unhelpful, and showed little interest in addressing our concerns. We raised multiple complaints about how unhappy we were with the cleanliness and overall condition of the room, but nothing was resolved. We requested a refund on several occasions due to these issues, clearly explaining how dissatisfied we were and why the stay was unacceptable. Despite this, our request was refused, which was extremely frustrating given the circumstances. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Poor cleanliness, unprofessional service, and a lack of care for guests’ concerns mean we would not recommend Akatara Hotel to others.

The accommodation had a beautiful setting, it was close to the port and a restaurant, we also had a delicious breakfast included in the price. I had to check 3 times if the price was right because it seemed to me that I was paying too little :D. For the price, the accommodation is luxurious.

The best hotel in Nusa Penida with the best hotel driver

The room was really clean and bright. There is a shop near to the hotel. We were in a lot of tour with the hotel driver. The driver was the nicest person, who I met in Nusa Penida. He really worked wholeheartedly and showed us everything. The communication was really smooth with him, I took to him from the first moment. We eat the most dealicous breakfast here.

I would rather book a hostel than stay at this hotel again.

The location was very good, its 200m from the port where you come from Sanur (Bali) to get to Nusa Penida, and the pool inside the hotel is very nice. Those two things and the price per night are the only good things about this place.

Where do I start, if you need wifi to work, this is not the place. Disconnects multiple times, and speeds are terrible, I complained, the staff said there is nothing wrong on their laptops with the wifi. I noticed 4 personal hotspot devices when looking for wifi, all other guests at the hotel. The bed was the loudest bed I had ever slept on, if I had to get up or my partner had to get up during the evening, it would wake the other person up. The room was not clean, there was a used earbud by the bed, an earplug under the bed, and the bathroom was dirty. The room also smelled mouldy. The staff are standing around and smoking, and do not mind watching guests arrive struggling with their bags. The breakfast was the cherry on the top, you need to place your order the day before, and quite honestly, we had one breakfast (as it was included in our stay), and we didnt have any more at the "Hotel". This "hotel" competes against backpackers, and needs alot of work to get any sort of star.

Amazing pool, great location.

The pool was increadible and the stuff very friendly. They let us stay lounge by the pool even after the check out while waiting for the afternoon boat back to Bali.

Short but sweet!

Breakfast was lovely and the room was immaculate! Great location for people wishing to visit Nisa Lembongan too as the port is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Lots of lovely cafes around and the taxi service provided by the hotel upon request is ideal. Highly recommend amok sunset.

Life made easy and relaxing.

Everything was perfect. Location amazing, once you get off the boat it’s less than a 2 minute walk, saves you getting a taxi or bike. Lots of restraunts nearby, you can go onto the beach and walk at least 3 miles past lots of beach clubs for drinks and or lunch. The room was immaculate and the bed was really comfy. Bathroom very modern and up to date with modern times. Staff very welcoming and nice too. The groundskeeper is always working hard night and day, keeping the pool area and grounds clean. I would highly recommend.

Maybe a bar. But is only a small hotel and shop just across the road. So may not be worth it for them.

The hotel is located close to the ferry port, the beach and the center of island life. It is also next to the best restaurant in the center (with great live music). We also felt grateful for our situation after touring around other hotels.

As on the whole island there are annoying people around the hotel entrance who insist on doing things for money. There were too many flies in the room. Housemade solved the problem by giving insect repellent. The hotel, room and bathroom were clean compared to the island.

It was OK

The pool was clean, the surroundings were tidy. The breakfast was not bad either.

There is a very strong smell of damp in the room, which is very unpleasant. When we arrived, the bed was covered in dirty linen. The staff immediately fixed it. The surroundings (including the kitchen) are already in very poor condition. They need renovation. There are a lot of flies on the terrace (dining room), which is very unpleasant during the meal. The staff is mostly okay, they are friendly. They also offer scooter rentals - the downside is that we got one on the first day, where the brakes worked very poorly, so check before you go. We also always got almost completely out of gas (good thing there is a gas station nearby)

Very cosy and friendly hotel in Nusa Penida

Rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfortable. Tasty breakfast with several choices. Lovely garden and pool. Good location. The hotel is around 7 minutes walking from the harbour. Situated on a busy street but it is not so noisy, so we could relax and sleep well. Wonderful tours around the island with kind and reliable drivers. Super friendly and helpful staff! They helped us with carrying our suitcases, transportation and special requests. We had wonderful days in Nusa Penida and hope that we can return to Akatara hotel one day. Many thanks to all the team members!

Great for manta ray snorkling trips

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms where modern and well decorated with a smart tv. We had a ground floor room with a patio door leading to the swiming pool and garden which was very nice. Breakfast was included and very nice with quality juices, tea and coffee. Location couldnt have been better for bars, restaurants and harbour with all the activities we came for. Loved it

Perfect value for money! I would recommend it

The location is great. It is in the main road, walking distance from any of the two ports. Super convenient to go out for dinner or to rent a scooter nearby.

The bed was uncomfortably noisy, it has a wooden frame that keeps making noises with the most tiny movement. Very disturbing.

If it wasn’t for the water, it would’ve been good

Everything was fine at the start, but the following day our water went out, and it was out all day, and the next day but luckily we were checking out anyway. If it wasn’t for that, everything else was fine. Rooms were decent sized, clean, the location was excellent. The breakfast was good too.

Not many to pick from near restaurants, this one fit the bill. The pool was shady and cool which was delightful on hot, humid days. Walkable from pier which saves time and money. Very quiet location.

Akatara Hotel is one minute from the harbor of Nusa Penida, everything is very close. The accommodation itself is really nice and we enjoyed the stay there. We really like the pool. We can definitely recommend it. Also the staff were so helpful and very nice! 😊

Convienient and pleasant.

The property is very well located. Many other properties on the island are quite isolated and far from restaurants and the harbour. This hotel is a 150m walk from the harbour and there is a good buzz in the nearby restaurants in the evening. The bathroom was nice and the shower was powerful and hot.

Our room had considerable amounts of mould on the walls and we could smell the mould in the air in the room. The property is located next to the main road. This did not bother us but it might be important to know for a light sleeper.

Ideal location for exploring the island

Great location as starting point for exploring Nusa Penida. Nice, friendly and helpful staff.

Right next to main road which created a bit of noise. Minor things like broken handles on sliding doors to garden/pool area in both of our rooms. Uncomfortable hard and high pillows. Otherwise all good and value for money.
