Studio Collinetta

Location was fine - it was a 10-12 minute walk from Zermatt station or a short taxi ride. Ok views from the apartment, but a lot was blocked due to the surrounding apartments/houses. Instructions to get keys were clear and the owner responded to queries reasonably quickly.

No microwave or laundry facilities provided, so only good if you are staying a day or 2. Not very accessible as you have many steps to get to the property and particularly problematic with luggage. Instructions regarding checkout were conflicting - the messages said checkout between 8 and 10 and the framed poster in the property said 11am - owner confirmed 11am was ok.

The studio was well stocked with plates, utensils, etc in case I wanted to cook instead of go out for dinner. The furniture was pretty flexible with folding tables and a lot of places to hang clothes and towels. The wifi was much faster than a lot of the hotels I stayed at in other parts of Switzerland.

The studio is in the northern residential part of the town which is steeper and is not near the free E-bus lines so if you're traveling with a lot of luggage, hailing a pricey taxi to get to the apartment is pretty much a necessity. The toilet became backed up during my stay and it was difficult to get assistance. The host was responsive by Whatsapp and apologetic but because it was the weekend, the cleaning crew was not available to help unclog the toilet so wastewater backed up into the shower on the second day, and some of us just decided not to shower that day. I would suggest to the host to put a plunger in the bathroom so that guests can try to resolve stuck toilets themselves.

Comfortable with adequate amenities. Good value for Zermatt

Hard to find from the street. Never found any “hotel desk” or staff as stated in the description. Didn’t expect so many stairs to get to the door.

Great location in terms of distance. But needs better access to the room for people with any luggage.

A Dishwasher was mentioned but there was no Dishwasher provided. Needs more bowls and general utensils and a microwave.
