Peaceful, hospitable, family-friendly stay near Lucerne

The manager and all the staff were amazingly responsive to anything we needed. We asked for an extra fan because it was during a heat wave and they sent one to our room before we even arrived back from our activities for the day. When our 3-year-old left his stuffed animal, they found it and mailed it back to us. Breakfast was tailored to our group size, tasty, and ready at a time we prearranged - and all for a very affordable price - especially in Switzerland. We stayed in the apartment, which had a well-equipped kitchen, new IKEA furniture, and plenty of space for our large group.

This is no fault of the hotel, and can be a positive if you are looking to get away from urban life - but there are very limited hours for the grocery store and restaurants in the town. Google's hours are often inaccurate and one night we were left without the dinner options we researched in advance.

Surprisingly unpleasant and dirty.

Leaving the property was the part we liked most.

Huge cleaning problem in the entire facilities. Our first room was not cleaned at all (incl. damp, used towels), the second/exchange room was bearable to say the most. Toilets in the restaurant were not cleaned. The owner himself was rude/aggressive and didn’t even make an effort to make us feel comfortable. Rest of the staff at least did the bare minimum in terms of service.

Superb

A nice apartment situated not far from Sursee, on a main road of a small village. It can be a bit noisy because of the cars and also people. There are three bedrooms, a huge living room and a kitchen. The kitchen has some basic equipment but nothing extra (like a coffee machine or wine glasses). But when we asked for a few wine glasses they brought them (not for wine though but that was ok). The apartment was clean. The beds were comfortable.

The kitchen could have been equipped better (more plates, various glasses, cutleries etc). Also, it was not very clean on my opinion (I am fastidious about kitchens). Otherwise it is a lovely apartment.

Driving To UK from Italy

The staff organised the restaurant to stay open when our arrival was delayed by traffic. They were very kind and friendly. The restaurant was inviting and buzzing with happy people and the food was good with the best scrambled egg ever in a brilliant breakfast Off the beaten track in a lovely area Highly recommended .

Nice place but they need attention to details.

Comfortable rooms and beds. Staff were all very friendly. Restaurant bar in the hotel was expensive but not bad. Menu was a little strange for choice but the food tasted ok and just what I needed after a long day traveling. The Cordonbleu was really good!

Bathroom wasn’t clean on arrival but they did let me change rooms. So the next room was clean but on the balcony there was a water bottle filled with cigarette butts. Cleaners don’t have an eye for detail. Breakfast was nice and plentiful for continental but my juice glass was dirty and I had to swap it for another. Not to say this hotel is dirty but they definitely need to improve on their final finish and inspection for consistency. Dusty in places, cleaning not finished in all areas in some rooms, clearly no final inspection before the room is declared ready for arrival. With a bit more attention to detail, this place would have scored much higher.

Il personale è prontissimo cordiale ed attento. 1) ho lasciato inavvertitamente le luci dell'auto accese Sono stato raggiunto in camera e mi hanno avvisato. Per fortuna la mia missione di lavoro poteva trasformarsi in un disastro. 2) Mi hanno trovato la presa necessaria per noi UE (diversa da quelle svizzere) 3) Ho mangiato benissimo (noi italiani quando andiamo all'estero restiamo delusi, Ho mangiato il miglior Cordon Blue mai assaggiato. il titolare mi ha spiegato che è la selezione (ed il pregio) delle materie prime che usa a fare il risultato.

- il telospugna sul letto al posto del lenzuolo può essere confortevole d'inverno ma d'estate è troppo calda - La colazione non è studiata per una clientela business le 08:30 è tardi per chi si muove per lavoro

Teleurstelling

Het was er niet schoon. Wij wilden graag gebruik maken van het ontbijt, echt was hier geen mogelijkheid toe, wat wel vermeld stond toen we boekten. De woensdag is daar een rust dag waardoor er niks te verkrijgen is. We moesten zelf maar naar de winkel en ons ontbijt halen. Het uitchecken kon tot 10 uur, maar we kregen te horen dat we eigenlijk om 8:30 de kamer moesten verlaten, zodat er schoongemaakt kon worden. Dit was ook vanwege de rustdag. De kamer zelf was niet schoon, veel geluidsoverlast van de mensen die tot laat laat beneden zaten (locals) en veel licht de kamer in. Al met al, veel geld voor deze kamer

Dies war einer meiner miserabelsten Aufenthalte- schweizweit!

Das Zimmer war voller Mücken. Dieses Problem war wohl bereits bekannt, da die Wände voller "verstrichener" Mückenüberreste waren... Leider hielt man es jedoch nicht für nötig, etwas dagegen zu unternehmen, so dass wir von dieser einer Nacht über 30 Mückenstiche davontrugen... Aber noch viel Schlimmer: Es war am Folgetag (Samstag) gegen 06:45 Uhr kein Personal auffindbar, da niemand arbeitete. Dies wurde weder vorgängig Kommuniziert noch wurde eine Notfallnummer ausgehändigt. Nach langem suchen und ein paar Anrufen auf die Hauptnummer des Gasthofs rief der Besitzer dann zurück. Er gab zuerst uns die Schuld, da wir ohne Frühstück gebucht und auch nicht erwähnt hätten, dass wir um diese Zeit abreisen würden. Dabei konnten wir nicht ahnen, dass die Gäste über Nacht komplett sich selber überlassen werden! Zudem sprach/verstand die Dame beim Checkin kein /schlecht Deutsch oder Englisch, was die Kommunikation nicht einfach machte. Dabei war mit ihr abgemacht, dass wir unsere Lunchbox (welche wir freundlicherweise im Kühlraum deponieren durften) am Abreisetag um 06:30 Uhr wieder abholen wollten... Schlussendlich konnten wir um 07:20 Uhr das Gasthaus verlassen, da der Besitzer jemand von ausserhalb aufgeboten hatte, um uns unsere Ware auszuhändigen. So möchte man auf keinen Fall jemals wieder in ein Wanderwochenende starten....

Optimal für einen Kurzaufenthalt.

gute Zimmergrösse, modernes Badezimmer, nettes Personal, gratis PP direkt vor dem Haus.

Leider sind die Zimmer sehr hellhörig, man hört die Gespräche von nebenan und das Getrampel von oben. Die Matratzen und Kissen waren uns leider zu weich.
