Location was quite far from city

Hotel staff were friendly and kind. Location is perfect. There is a cute little garden where you can sit it. Affordable price and good value for money. The bed's matress was SUPER comfortable - i enjoyed it so much and had an excellent good night sleep.

I dropped something under the bed - it was very dusty. Also, I checked in on Sunday - the staff is not there so I needed to ask them for a password for a self check-in which was a bit challenging. Notice that the elevator stops at every half floor. The bathtub is high and a bit challenging to climb. However, considering the good price I still think its an excellent value for money.

The residence is somewhat outside of the center of Zurich in a quiet neighborhood but there is a bus on the same street and a tram about a 7 minute walk that takes you straight into the center of town. If you have a half fare card for Swiss trains you will get half off the fares of all public transportation in Zurich (including the river boats). And there is a lovely beach park on Lake Zurich called Strandbad Mythenquai that is well worth the price of admission and is about a 10 minute walk. There are showers as well as changing rooms and toilets and lots of grass and trees plus a gravely beach and large swimming area. There is also a terrific vegetarian buffet in the park that is open until 8pm called Hiltl am Strand. We had a fabulous meal there after our evening swim. The room itself was very clean with a comfy king size bed and a bathroom and a small outdoor balcony with table and chairs. And the air conditioning works really well (you can control the temperature). I changed my reservations to the Residence when I started seeing how hot it was in Zurich and I was very happy I did. There is also a great cafe/bakery on the corner near the hotel called Walter Buchman and it is perfect for breakfast or lunch. You can also buy milk and juice and other supplies there and there was a small fridge in our room.

If you want to be just steps from Zurich's Old Town or other central sites, then this place may not be for you. But if you don't mind the short commute, it's a great place to stay.

It was a convenient location for our needs. Although the reception wasclosed on arrival after about 10 minutes someone appeared to let us in. There was a coffe machine, kettle and fridge in the room which was all positive.

The shower was in a small bath which was difficult to access and had a half door which meant the floor was flooded when the shower was in use. There was an air conditioning unit in the room that beeped and whirred every 15 minutes through the night despite being turned off. The room was extremely cold on arrival. The rooms did not feel clean and were very tired and shabby. The basic room did not feel good value.
