Location, great breakfast and the restaurant is good for lunch and dinner and being on site is perfect. Staff very helpful.

Traditional Bali style resort with great service, setting and restaurant in a central location. The massage at the resort is one of the best in Bali - seriously. The resort offers real peace and tranquility after a busy day.

Agree with most - great location, close to beach and shops, good food, wonderful + attentive staff. Loved the cute lil things avail for young children, the play area in the garden, floaties + hoop in the pool, colouring activity offered by the restaurant. Charming spot!

Room was dark but no biggie, there are plenty of lights avail for use. The temp of pool water is very warm at times.

Puri Cendana is clean, comfortable and in a great location near the beach and shops. Breakfast is good and the rooms are spacious and air conditioned. Don't expect 5 star luxury as it's quite basic, but for the price I paid it's great value for money.

No safe in the room, and the old fashioned padlock for locking the room didn't feel very secure.

This is a charming old world resort in stunning grounds and perfectly located. It’s not proclaiming to be five star - but it’s honest, decent and utterly charming. Feed the squirrels, wake up to birds singing. Peace and quiet yet only five minutes to the beach.

Such a peaceful hotel with gorgeous gardens and pool area. Wonderful breakfast served with tables around the pool was lovely. The room is large and the bathroom was medieval like (in a good way) with the stone interior and wooden bolt door. Very close to the beach which was a bonus!

There is little natural light in the bedroom area because of the wooden beams covering the windows, but it wasn’t a problem. Natural light in the bathroom was good

This place is magical! Traditional Balinese style instead of modern minimalism. Only thing is some rooms are upstairs and then have stairs within the rooms in no way a negative but if you have mobility issues you might want to triple check your accom. Staff here are amazing and so helpful. Included Brekky was delicious as was the rest of the food from the restaurant. Can’t recommend this place enough!

The location was excellent and the staff was very friendly! They have a beautiful garden and a nice swimming pool. Breakfast was good as well and the service was exceptional. The bathtub was big and beautiful!

The bedding and towels were very old and seemed not very clean. The bathroom sink was very small and not convenient at all. The toilet didn’t work right and we had to struggle with it every time to collect water and flash. Everything was outdated and needed repair and replacement.

Beautifully constructed and decorated in traditional Balinese style. Loved the pool and waterfall next to the restaurant which offers delicious food at good value prices. Staff are wonderful! So helpful, friendly and always smiling. Easy walking distance to the beach.

Rooms are a bit dark & dated. But a lovely reminder of what Bali was like 30 years ago!! Sad to see some of the neighbouring abandoned properties did not survive.

Breakfast was ok. A bit limited and repetitive. They should revamp it. We were there a year ago and exactly the same. The fruit and health bowl were great.

The hot breakfast e.g. bacon, eggs , toast and jam were very basic.

The hotel is incredibly well located, about five minutes to the beach for the nightly sunset viewing and a few minutes the other way to the main street of restaurants, cafes and sports bars. The rooms are spacious, traditionally decorated and very clean. The onsite restaurant was so easy, well priced, quick and a lot of options. The coffee could be improved. We have stayed here twice and would happily stay again. The staff are courteous but unobtrusive and the bungalow style of the property feels very tropical. There is a balcony at the front of the rooms which is a great spot to read.

The electricity was a little slow so the kettle took ages to boil and the hot water for the shower ran out sometimes. The bottom sheet on the bed is not fitted, so it comes out while you are sleeping and you can end up in a tangle. There are no hand towels provided so the bath towels get used for everything.

The 1st room that I was assigned was near the road and quite noisy. So I got an upgrade and stayed in an upstairs room which was nice and a bit quieter. The staff were great and the gardens on the property are lovely. The pool was nice and the smoothie bowls for breakfast delicious. Was nice to sit and have breakfast and watch the traffic go by.. The beach is a couple of minutes away, a great location. I would stay here again.

One thing to be aware of is that the upstairs rooms have living room and bathroom downstairs and bedroom upstairs and the staircase is quite steep. So if you are needing to use the bathroom during the night or have any mobility issues definitely get a downstairs room and away from the road.

Charming, old school hotel with great access to the beach and some nearby restaurants. The gardens and pool are lovely and give you that oasis feel to get away from a noisy, busy and dusty street.

We were a family group and noticed not all rooms were the same quality despite being charged the same price (some rooms have been renovated, upgraded). I thought the price was really steep after seeing the rooms too, I have stayed in nice rooms for half this price so can only assume the location and old Bali charm contribute to the cost.

The interior is decorated in an old-fashioned national style. I particularly remember the wooden furniture—it looked very original and distinctive. The bathroom was enclosed and decorated with its own small garden, which made it feel especially cozy. For breakfast, you can choose one of several set menus instead of a buffet—it was delicious and filling.

Stairs going up to bedroom are very steep in the duplex and the bathroom is on the lower level. I didn't feel very safe going down them in the night. There is also a bit of noise of traffic from the street.

The staff and amenities are excellent. Always look forward to our stay there

The pool is amazing. So wonderful laying by the pool with a book and a drink. The breakfast and restaurant is delicious and the location is great. We've stayed here twice now. The gardens are beautiful, well looked after and create just the right amount of privacy.

I'm a soft mattress person, so only a personal preference but the beds were firm.

What a gorgeous older style hotel! I arrived to a very warm welcome at about 7pm. Checked in with ease and was then taken through beautiful lush gardens to my room on the ground floor. Up a few steps to the patio with a little table and two chairs with a mozzie coil already burning, the wooden door secured by a large padlock. Then inside to a large room, princess bed with mosquito net, small bar fridge, a desk, and a couple of chairs and coffee table. The sunken bathroom was spacious with the most enormous bathtub, I only wish I was there long enough to use it. 3/4 floor to ceiling windows provided a view of the outdoor area which is walled and very private. Body wash and shampoo supplied. The aircon had been running and my room was lovely and cool. Two small complimentary bottles of water daily. Towels smelled amazing! I had a comfortable sleep and the next morning had breakfast a few steps away by the pool. From memory there were 4-5 options each of Western and Indo. I stuck with Western and each morning had perfectly poached eggs, crispy bacon, and a fresh fruit plate of watermelon, pineapple and honeydew. And coffee/tea/juice. It was great sitting by the pool and watching the street come to life with passing foot and road traffic. My room was made up promptly daily and every evening there was a fresh mosquito coil for the patio. I didn't have an opportunity to swim in the pool but it looked lovely and the temp was perfect when I dangled my feet. I also didn't eat at the restaurant except for breakfast, but it always seemed to be busy with guests and walk-ins. The staff are wonderfully friendly and accommodating, and the dogs loved getting pats. The beach was about a 100m walk at the end of the street, and a Circle K around the corner in the other direction. Well located in terms of walking distance to beach, Eat Street etc. A 3 night stay wasn't long enough!

There was nothing I didn't like! Three tiny things which were nowhere near enough to ruin my stay, more comments for other travellers and hotel. Firstly there is one wooden peg which secures your door when going to bed. It didn't bother me, I felt very safe, but some might not like this. Secondly I would have liked a hand towel for the sink in the bathroom. Lastly it would have been great if there was conditioner supplied as well. None of these were dealbreakers though!

It’s a small resort with everything you need. Traditional feel and good value for money.
