The dining room. Excellent breakfast.

The heating had not been turned on when we arrived. The curtains did not fully close and the Christmas tree lights on the outside of our building lite the room

A real find and one to return to

Absolutely beautiful decor, lovely bedroom, tasty food, excellent service, great atmosphere. Loved the liquid soap as well.

The sink in the bathroom was too high and too small for a small person so water splashed everywhere plus a shower mat would be good.

Worth repeating

The Mauritz is a beautiful hotel situated in a quiet street. It offers off street parking behind the hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was absolutely fantastic. Table service and wide variety of breakfast items on offer. Fantastic coffee. The hotel also has a restaurant with a menu offering great variety.

Very enjoyable.

This was a refined restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast. Lovely to order breakfast and not to have to figure out how the coffee machine works or go on a hunt for the butter. Linen tablecloths and napkins. Waiter service, with politeness and a smile. Very refreshing. This was a super hotel to finish off our holiday.

Perhaps we should have had a room upgrade.

I’ve slept in better hotels

I’d love to leave a good review, but I just can’t. When I came into the hotel room there was no such thing as a tea kettle or a coffee machine, only a bottle of water. I think this is kind of odd as you have this in every hotel room. Anyways, when I wanted to take a shower I noticed it wasn’t clean as I found hair everywhere and the water got cold after only 1 minute being in the shower. The breakfast was okay, but could have been better. When I mentioned the things I’ve noticed in the room and that I wasn’t able to take a shower, I got €25 discount on the room, but to me it didn’t make any difference because I had a bad experience throughout my stay.

Lovely Non Chain Hotel in a village centre location

Room was spacious, clean and mostly comfortable. Beds a little narrow (2 singles pushed together in continental style). Stairs very steep although there was alift, but it was slow.

Breakfast Choice, there wasn't any, and it was served so if you preferred a certain bread type you may not have it.

What a wonderful hotel. We booked at very short notice and arrived later than expected due to traffic. The restaurant was full booked but they found a short window of time for us to be able to dine. Fantastic location for a wander around the small town/port. They also had an out of sight car park (very important to us as we were on a motorcyle).

Nice hotel in a very picturesque and historical town. Restaurant specializes in Nouveau Cuisine. And their dining room has a lot of ambiance. Very nice rooms. Ours had a great view of the town.

A clean well-managed hotel in a good location at a fair price.

Clean and spacious room in a pleasant location. Nice breakfast in attractive restaurant setting. Pleasant garden behind property.

Very steep stairs to our room in the annex. Tricky carrying luggage up and down. Large ornate mirror just behind bed where headboard would normally be - concerned in case I knocked it down!

Exceptional

Everything!! From the moment of entering the private parking as we arrived to leaving it on our departure we were very impressed and highly satisfied with everything about this superb (and dog-friendly) hotel. All the staff were friendly, helpful and professional throughout, our room (on the top floor) was clean and spacious, the outside dining area in the garden was beautiful and the food and wine exceptional. The final treat was breakfast in the beautiful French-style dining room. Service to the table included eggs, ham, cheese, tomatoes, bread and pastries, yoghurt, fruit, jams, fruit juice, tea and coffee. A real experience to embrace. The town of Willemstad is very historic and beautiful in its own right. Set on the south bank of the Rhine estuary, the town is very clean and tidy, has attractive harbours, a riverside walk and safe dog-friendly woodland walks. We stayed at Hotel Mauritz for just one night - a last-minute booking so that we could get to the Amsterdam to Newcastle ferry easily the following day. We would very happily stay again (possibly for longer to see more of the town and area) and would happily recommend to others.

Fabulous hotel in an excellent location. Beautifully decorated bedroom with super comfortable bed and amazing bathroom. Lovely attentive staff, great breakfast. We also enjoyed a lovely dinner in the restaurant.

Beautiful and spacious room, very good breakfast. We got a beautiful table on the veranda. The restaurant with the gorgious garden is a highlight.

Breakfast is served at the table with everyting you can expect Location is at best, in very nice town of Willemstad Top rooms (worth the price) Hotel parking is perfect (not really an alternative) very friendly staff

size of dinner portions differs strongly (cost/performance ratio partly at the borderline) clear description where is the hotel parking would be helpful price level in Willemstad is high (eg for restaurants) maybe caused by the yacht audiences, but therefore the hotel is of course not responsible
