Burleigh Court Hotel and Leisure

The hotel is so lovely - very fancy interior and even had a signature smell through the lobby etc. The rooms were clean and well presented with plenty of storage space. There is a pillow menu and one of our friends requested a u shaped pregnancy pillow which was delivered to the room. There is a room service menu but we did not order to review that. Plenty of parking that is free for hotel guests. Check in was fairly smooth on the ‘serve yourself’ system. The bar area and restaurant area are lovely. The spa/pool area is lovely too. Location was great for us, we walked to Bom Bom pattiserie nearby for some lunch. We will definitely return to stay again in the future.

Feedback not complaints… Check out is at 10am and breakfast stops at 10am. There is a brunch menu but that doesn’t start until 11am. So for guests checking out at 10am there was no food option, we left to eat elsewhere. The hotel overall was very warm. The lobby and the rooms! We had both windows open and still needed to use the fans we found in the cupboard. I think bottles of water provided in the room would be a nice touch, especially as it’s so warm. The spa changing area is disappointing. When the hotel and facilities are so grand, it feels very small and crammed in.

Through no fault of their own, there was no hot water this morning. I had to have a cold shower. Also the press button for flushing the loo was reluctant and stiff. I pointed this out, and was told they would sort it out.

11am checkout at the weekend. Everything we needed (bar, restaurant and parking) was available on site. Leisure facilities available if we wanted to use them. Comfortable bed.

Nothing we didn’t like was too much of an issue.

This location works very well for us as a halfway location to meet friends. It looks a bit odd as you drive up to the security barriers but any worries disappear as soon as we enter the hotel. Friendly staff, lovely rooms, fantastic breakfast. Lovely pubs in villages within a very short drive.

Uncomfortable bed and pillow

Staff were excellent and weve stayed here a couple of times now and always received great service. Rooms spotless too and breakfast and evening meals were fab!

the breakfast was impressive, enjoyed the variety esp the halloumi cheese sticks. The property was good, staff were friendly and the area was secure and nice.

the only downside was the toilet wasn't too clean. The signatures in the place wasn't too great had to ask for where things were. even though there was a qr code to give staff info

Perfect location for athletes competing at Hipac. Lovely Christmassy vibe. Staff very helpful.

The pool was freezing cold so we couldn't swim in it and the pool was one of the main reasons for booking. Breakfast was a little on the pricey side. My children ate only cereal and croissant as they don't like full English and that still cost £12 each.

Central to where we needed to be, comfortable and had the facilities we liked e.g pool, gym, restaurant.

The temperature of the pool was very cold too cold to use. Drainage of the sink in the bathroom was very poor took ages for water to run away. Waited 2hours for food in the restaurant.

It was too hot in room for me and whilst we could open window it remained hot. You could hear pipe work from other rooms

Beautiful decor in communal areas and nice spa facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially in the restaurant, bar and reception.

No lift, although if we had needed help with bags it was offered.

The bar is terrible. We gave up at 9pm and went to our bedroom as we just couldn’t get a drink as there was nobody serving behind the bar and the bar is completely soulless the music is awful.

No elevators

Breakfast was great, and I always love the free access to the pool and gym facilities. Staff at the reception are always friendly and I really appreciate the free parking. The restaurant food is pricey, but good quality, and given that my partner is vegan, the range of vegan options is wonderful.

A few people have mentioned the the temperature, the rooms get far too hot, so even in September we had to use the fan. We've also had to stay at the hotel a few times this month due to family issues, and every time, despite booking for two, we've had to go back to the reception to ask for another towel. This latest time the member of staff at reception actually asked if we'd 'checked on the bed' for the second one, as though we'd somehow managed to miss it. She was very quick (like others who we reported this to on previous trips) to blame the house keeping staff which isn't great! By far the biggest issue we had on this trip was the quality of service in the restaurant and bar. The staff just seem impossibly slow at all times. The first night we just wanted a quick drink before bed, but the one person serving seemed to be glacially dealing with the one group of people ordering, slowly making one drink at a time before waiting for the next order, in the end we gave up as a 'quick drink' seemed unlikely. The second night we were starving after a long day so decided to go straight to the restaurant as it opened. Our mains came pretty quickly, although I had to chase part of mine as only my side of fries turned up initially. We then decided to plump for dessert, where first we had to wait until we could get the attention of our server, before then having to wait close to an hour to actually receive our desserts. Our server returned to apologise to say it would be another minute, but returning ten minutes later to apologise again and blame the kitchen staff, during this she managed to get a drink order wrong as well. Our quick meal took two hours.

I parked at the hotel - good- caught Uber into town - had to walk to barrier as car couldn’t come in? On the way back I was dropped off at the main barrier off Ashby road- I didn’t realise that I needed to call someone at the barrier once staff had left… this was 11.30 pm and very dark - me in high heels feeling quite vulnerable from the main barrier to the hotel (quite a walk!) some clear information on what to do at night when returning by taxi might help older people like me -

Nice room. Good lunch and breakfast - polite staff. Unfortunately didn't get time to use spa facilities so cant comment on these. We were attending an event in Loughborough and it was a good base.
