The room was very comfortable and had character which was enjoyable. It was quiet and I slept really well. I would go back

It is a restaurant with rooms so when the restaurant isn’t open you use the back door. But I liked that I could be independent.

The property was very easy to find and in the perfect location for us. The room was stunning.

The smell coming out from the pipes and bathroom drainage was very strong and unpleasant

Friendly and helpful staff. I stayed in a large, attractive and characterful room and had a decent breakfast and free car parking - very good value indeed. Popular restaurant below the rooms offers good Italian food and wine.

Quiet, clean comfortable room, with a large cozy bed. Shower was clean and had lashings of hot water. The (continental) breakfasts were good, plenty of different options. The food in the restaurant was high quality, innovative (not the ubiquitous pizzas and Spaghetti Carbonaras). Portion sizes excellent and the prices were very reasonable.

No parking despite parking being listed on booking.com. Communication was also pretty poor; I booked at short notice based on the info available to me, so couldn’t cancel. After I’d booked I got a message from the hotel telling me there was no parking space for the room I’d booked. Replied asking if there was alternative parking nearby and never received a response. The room had been cleaned but not properly; there was hair all over the inside of the shower and the fan was laden with dust which set off my allergies. There was also a hole in the wall behind the door. You could hear everything going on in the corridor and the other rooms - I understand that it is an old building so that is to be expected to an extent, but even so, it really impacted on my sleep and my sense of privacy.

The room Dispenser (name) has a really bad smell especially in the bathroom. We suspect from the drains, it spoiled our evening.

Great, central location. Room was very clean and bright. Bathroom was sparkling!! Flexibility: allowed me to check it early, and leave an hour after usual check out time

The staff were so friendly, the room was great value for money, the beds were comfy! Food was lovely at breakfast and on the evening too.

The lamps by the bed didn't work so I could only use the main light or no lights, something small but it would have been nice to be able to use them! My only negative point for feedback!

The location was perfect for the University, restaurant fabulous. Breakfast was ok - continental breakfast but minor things like no tea spoons or sharp knives to cut fruit with. Room was lovely and quiet and dark even though was at the front of the hotel. Everyone was really welcoming and helpful Parking was right outside at the back - not the easiest car park to either find or get into, but was really close and very handy and felt very secure

Room was fab, although unable to open the window so felt a little stuffy. Whilst I was aware there was a bath in the bedroom, I did sort of expect to have a shower in the bathroom too. But there was just a small toilet which had a large gap around the door so didn't really give any privacy

Great location and character hotel, lovely beds and super comfy.. The bath in the room is a great addition and super relaxing. Staffed by courteous and engaged professionals which is a warm touch!

The plumbing is typical of an old property and needs some attention.

Everywhere looked tired. We ate in their restaurant on Monday night. Neither of us enjoyed our meal. My husband was sick in the early hours of Tuesday morning and has still not recovered (Wednesday).

No fridge in the room, I thought I’d booked the bigger room but this was given to my sister so a little disappointed as the room was small and no bath but we managed.

Check in was easy room was spacious and clean, bed was really comfortable.

The stair carpet in the corridor approaching the room needs replacing. A change of towels for the second day would have bee. nice

The ensuite bathroom had a maserator, which was very noisy. Also if you use rhe bathroom at night the extractor fan comes on and is very loud. We booked late, so had to have the room without a shower. The bath is in the bedroom, (we did know this before booking, but it was a sought after night in Loughborough due to graduations), which some might like, I didn't particlarly and missed having a shower. We previously had a better visit, when we stayed in the other double with a shower, so I'd recommend that room. The venetian blind needs fixing or replacing, it was set to closed and there was no way of opening it, which was annoying. We could lift the whole thing up, but then you would have no privacy, right on the main road. It wouldn't take much to fix this issue. I think they could have been a bit more generous with the tiny tubs of milk. You have enough for just one hot drink, that's if you are okay taking your hot drinks strong. Maybe ask for more on arrival, if like me you don't want very strong drink.

The room was lovely , very old ,,loved the toilet door and the deep bath , chair by the window for drunk people watching,, lovely big fire place , bed was huge and comfy , restaurant was busy and food was lovely

I like that it was rustic although it could do with a bit of renovation (the room I stayed in at least). Shower was great, bed was comfortable. I absolutely loved the restaurant, and the location is really good too.

Car park is very limited, stairs and hallway leading to the rooms could do with some visual improvement for atmosphere and better impression, room could do with some freshen up keeping the rustic visual.
