The hotel. Beautiful early 20th Century architecture. Old school character.

I've stayed there many times. It's not as modern as other hotels but for me that's its charm. You're staying in a piece of history.

Charming!

I loved this old-fashioned charming hotel! It’s very central and it was very convenient for me. It has a style and I loved the room, it comfortable and large although a bit dated. It was very clean. I loved the bed, too. The breakfast was also good. Altogether a great experience.

For a short stay on business, the hotel was fine.

You can see that it used to be a grand hotel when entering the building: the chandeliers, stairs and glass. The hotel is located across from the famous water tower and near the pedestrian zone. It is only a 10 minute walk from the main train station and 15 minutes to the university.

The rooms were clean but the bathroom needs modernizing. We didn't book breakfast as there are bakeries around the corner.

Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. There was nothing more you could have wanted. Everything was there and the dining room was as beautiful as the rest of the hotel. The location was great.

The hotel exceeded my expectations in how splendidly furnished, clean and quiet it was. Walking in feels like stepping into a castle–a very charming place indeed. The courtesy of the staff, the cleanliness of the spaces, the exquisite breakfast... everything was beyond excellent

The only thing that kind of left me sour was the parking situation. I had to look forever to find the machine where I could pay my ticket, which resulted in me having to pay for an additional hour of parking. It is not easy to find at all, and if you are coming from the hotel elevator, you will need to walk quite a while to find it and pay your ticket. This could be solved by allowing people to validate/pay for their parking at the hotel, or adding another payment machine closer to the hotel subterranean exit.

I loved every detail of this classical hotel. Spacious lobby, gorgeous decoration and nice decent music playing background. And staffs were super friendly, attentive and nothing was missed.

Nothing!!!!We made a reservation in the train to Mannheim for your Hotel because we were in a terrible delay and had to stay in Mannheim for a night. Your Hotel looked nice on the website. Arrived in Mannheim we went to the DB desk to inform for the next day travelling for NL-Utrecht. As a good token of service we got a Gutschein for Hilton Garden Hotel!! We tried to cancel the reservation (19.00u)by phone several times but your hotel was not reachable!!!! The co-worker of Hilton Garden helped us to reach your hotel, but all in vain. I also made an e-mail via booking.com with the same message!! Today we got a booking of Euro 79,20 via the credit card for our stay while we DIDNOT stayed in your Hotel at all!!! I made several e-mails to inform you(the computer) but no respons at all. On your web site is the information: "You don't have to pay when you are not in the hotel." We conclude that you will restitute the 79,20 euro in due time! R.Koole

the shining hotel

very central

where to start ? oh my God, I Think this is the worse hotel I ever been in my entire life... it loos like it was a lux hotel in the 70´s or 80´s but nothing has been touch since then. My room was about 45 grades celsius when I walked in, the carpet and the wall paper very dated. the shower a nightmare, never really got warm water...and the cold water I shower with had difficulties going away from the bathtub as the toilette was making strange noise. I heard scratching noise coming from the wall. But the best is yet to come, I originally booked the journey without breakfast, then upon arrival I decide to add breakfast to it,( I paid upon arrival) when I showed up for breakfast the next day the waiter humiliated me in front of the whole restaurant asking me if I had a receipt for the breakfast, I explain that I paid breakfast upon my arrival, they checked and everything was fine, I was told that reception and kitchen don't talk to each other..very small apologize for such huge humiliation. this place doesn't deserve a single star. it should be closed down

A beautiful old hotel, close ich to everything.

This hotel is a beautiful, old world hotel. It is very conveniently placed next to the Wasserturm, just a 10 minute easy walk from the station if you are arriving by train as we did. It is easy to get to all parts of Mannheim from here. The rooms are generously sized and the beds are very comfortable. the shower is hot and plentiful, although it did flood the bathroom floor each time. But there are plenty of towels available. Breakfast is generous and served in a beautiful room downstairs.

We were here in December for three nights and on the first two nights the room was colder than was comfortable. It did improve on the third night. Because we were travelling with luggage, it is disconcerting to find that there are steps into the front foyer and no lift or help from staff. The reception staff were very professional, but we would have liked a little more friendliness. We were handed two bottles of water each, plus our luggage and room key and left to juggle all this and find our way to the lift.
