How “El Capitán” got its name:
The living room of El Capitan has a seafaring motif and feel. And the bedroom has the floor build up, with two steps, so that the bed and area around it is elevated, and from the bed itself you can see the ocean all the time. And we figured that this is what a captain would want, being able to survey his domain - the open ocean all the way out to the horizon - at all times. So we called the property El Capitán

Additional Note: Taxi from the airport to the property costs approximately $20.
Our dedicated team ensures your stay is seamless:
• Office Team: Available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM.
• Supervisor is on duty daily 9AM to 8PM, for any circumstances that require assistance.
• After 8PM our Night Service deals with any emergencies.
• On weekends our team monitors emails.

Good communication with host. Loved the welcome goodies, didn’t need to immediately go out and shop. Place had everything we needed though a bit worn in spots. Beautiful view and nice pool and beach access.

The minute we unlocked the door and saw that balcony view facing the ocean we knew we'd made the right choice. The convenience of the location is superb. The apartment is comfy with a rustic, lived in feel, there were unexpected provisions (coffee, milk, juice, bread, eggs, beverages) that were a generous touch.

Overall it was a nice space but needed updating. Kitchen was well equipped. Lighting during the day was great but at night it was very dim and difficult to see. The bed is at the top of two 10" steps. I would caution anyone w/ knee, hip or balance issues to NOT stay here. We used towels and pillows to help us see the steps when getting off the bed.
The beach chairs were very much appreciated.
Also, do NOT rent from Charlie's Car rental, whom the Marco Polo corp recommends. Although they were very efficient they crudely paint over previous damage. So make sure to take pics when you rent and then when you turn your car into the rental. Charlie's will ask where you are staying...DO NOT TELL THEM! Better to pay the extra $$ and rent from a reputable car rental.
We used our plastic/rubber cups as we were unable to find a vacuum or dust pan. Had we broken anything we would have been unable to clean up the glass.
