Taste of the Sea has recently been refurbished to a high standard to create a space for you to enjoy your holiday.
With 4 bedrooms, 2 doubles with ensuite, and 2 twins and a large shower room there is plenty of room for all 8 people.
The views from here stretch over Staffin Bay to the mainland and are second to none. Standing outside you can hear the sound of the waves crashing onto the pebble shore in Staffin Bay.
There is a wood burning stove in the living room all set up for keeping cosy for those winter evenings.
Plenty of room for entertaining and making memories.

Our group enjoyed our stay. The house was extremely comfortable for 6 of us. The bathrooms and home were stocked with toiletries, and basic needs. The washer and dryer were a great amenity during our travels. Beautiful sunrises over the water and we even got a glimpse of the Northern Lights at night. A quick drive to cool overlooks, Storr and Poetree. Our favorite cafe nearby was the Hungry Gull.

Visited the Isle of Skye in October 2024 with my 3 adult children and their families. A Taste of the Sea proved to provide an excellent location for the exploration of Skye. It provided our family a cozy place to cook, relax and share meals after busy days. It was a perfect place to wind down with a full kitchen/packed with utensils, pots, plates, cups. Washer/dryer accommodations gave us a place to catch up as we were on a two week tour of Scotland. Excellent shower accommodations for a larger group. Communication with the host was perfect and we left feeling like we found a home away from home.

Our group of eight friends were happy this property was available. Although it was located far from Portree, the location and views were outstanding. The house was clean with modern appliances, plenty of rooms, good WiFi and ample parking. The property manager responded to our questions in a timely manner. We would gladly stay here again.

Taste of the Sea is a beautiful property fir a large gtoup! Plenty of space, everything we needed. If I could offer any recommendations at all, it would just be to get some new mattresses. They definitely weren't the worst I slept on over my 3 week trip though, and they wouldn't stop me from booking again!

We stayed with extended family - my sister and her daughter, as well as my family with two 18 year old sons. The views from the house took our breath away. The kitchen was large and well appointed. IT was nice to have so many bedrooms and bathrooms. We loved the house and we loved Skye. We only wish we could have stayed for longer. Truly an unbelievable setting.

This cottage was about half an hour north of Portree, very close to some iconic Skye hikes like Old Man and Quiraing. The north end of the peninsula is lovely, the house has an amazing unobstructed view of the beach below. comfortable, modern, great communication with the property manager.

Highlights-quiet location, sea views, design and layout of the property. Updated kitchen and bathrooms. Laundry facilities. Sheep nearby. Comfy living room. Concerns-terribly uncomfortable beds, dirty handprints all over the walls, peeling paint in one of the rooms, kitchen table/stools/chairs were poor quality. Expected more for the price. Outdoor seating could be improved.

Beautiful location with amazing views of the bay, the cottage is like a tardis! Plenty of room for all 8 of us large but cosy sitting room and lovely kitchen diner to congregate in. The utility room is perfect for wet boots and coats and 3 bathrooms meant no one was waiting for the facilities. Beautifully decorated and the sheep and new lambs on the door step were a delightful bonus

Daffodils were blooming all around the property while we were there at the end of March. Sheep grazing nearby with a perfect curved beach view. Close to Quiraing, An Corran, and Man of Storr. Kitchen was huge (picture doesn’t do it justice), bathrooms were perfectly clean. We had an issue with the washer and dryer and property manager resolved immediately so we could keep up with laundry. Tons of space with 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. The living room was a great place to hang out, run the wood stove, and read or play board games after a busy day of hikes. We were a family of 4 with a 3 and 8 year old. This is a truly liveable home…not just a short term rental. You could stay here for months very comfortably. Only (slight) drawback…it became a haul to get home when traveling to the west side of Skye. Roads are small and lots of potholes on Skye. Staying closer to Portree may be easier…but this was way more peaceful and beautiful. Thank you for such a great time on Skye. Best family adventure of our lives!

The house was in a perfect location with great views overlooking Staffin Bay. The home was clean and updated and had nice spacious living areas, kitchen, and bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Nice and easy check-in with a key lock-box on the house and easy communication with the host for a couple questions we had about the area. Private parking in front of the house. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in Skye!
