The location is brilliant for long beach, just a few minutes walk away.
I stayed in the female dorm. It was super comfortable and quiet.

Breakfast was fab, private room was good for the price, average decor etc. Nice communal space downstairs. Right opposite the path down to long beach - in my opinion the best beach on the island, and 10 min walk from the 7/11 and cafes restaurants etc so great location!
Bed was rock hard. Not the hostels fault but was woken up by stray dogs howling every morning around 5am.

Big common area to work or just hang out (indoors and outdoors).
Super social.
Less than 5 min walk to Long Beach.
I was there during Songkran (the Thai new year) and the staff included us in the celebrations, which was nice
Not that clean.
Breakfast was toasts, eggs, coffee and some jam. You'd have to ask for the toasts, so you couldn't just eat 3 instead of 2 if you wanted to.
There was no curtain ring in the curtains, so they were very hard to open or close
