Great location, fantastic breakfast, helpful lady that runs the place. Bed was good as well, mattress was good.

It was clean, breakfast was good
Unfortunately, my stay at this hostel started bad. I had to pay 480 Baht for the room (including deposit) and I gave the receptionist 1000 Baht and she told me that I gave her 500 Baht after she gave me 20 Baht back. I told her three time that I gave her 1000 Baht but she insisted I was wrong. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe at the hostel due to that. I am sad that in a hostel, which should be a safe space, backpackers are taken advantage of.

They had free breakfast in the main building which was a great way to start the day. The staff is very nice and very helpful, they helped us rent bikes through them and it all went very smoothly. Rooms were well ventilated and had AC. Everything was always clean and just a short walk to the beach!
It's not exactly a social hostel, so if you're a solo traveller looking to meet people it would be a bit hard here. Also in the second building (the one we stayed in) only had two bathrooms to share between quite a few people. They were always clean but we had to wait a couple of times. Other than those two things, the hostel was great!

You get what you pay for. Not sure how the 9+ ratings is achieved which was misleading in some ways
Not the cleanest ever
Toilets getting watered each morning does not mean they are cleaned and in matter of fact they smelt
Common space was very much not welcoming with a couple of banquets and really old couch that had no more cushions in itself - same goes for outside
5/10: you get what you paid for

The breakfast is decent, thank you for that.
From the very start, the staff were unfriendly.
The shower cabins and toilets are extremely dirty, and there are very few of them. In both the toilets and showers, the drains are clogged, the water drains very poorly, there is a terrible smell, and everything is damp. There is nowhere to dry clothes after the beach — nothing dries, and on top of that, the windows are kept closed. The air conditioner is only turned on at 5:00 PM. There are no lockers for backpacks, only for a small handbag. The beds are terribly hard; it’s impossible to sleep.
I cannot recommend this place.

Staff were helpful. Good knowledge of the island and helpful with other enquiries!
Complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the free tea, coffee, popcorn and occasional doughnuts were a lovely bonus. Plus free water refills!
Everything was surface clean each day.
And only a 2 min walk from the beach.
Plenty of amenities around too.
The beds. Sheets were quite worn and the plastic cover on the mattress (which is totally understandable) just meant I was slipping about all night.
It’s evident it needs a deep clean. I understand with a quick turnover this is difficult, but I had a bunk by the window, that you couldn’t see out of. The place just needs a little TLC.
They have two buildings! The one with the lobby and then another with a lobby desk - unused. This would be fab as a larger communal space. More sofa’s, with games and books etc. would free up some space in the main building.
(These are definitely minor issues, and I would actually recommend to stay here !)

Great value, comfy beds, good breakfast, clean
It would be nice to have more drying space for towels, swimsuits etc. minor detail though everything was great

This was actually spectacular for the price. Way cleaner than the other hostels I stayed in Koh Lanta for a third of the price. The staff that works here went out of their way to help me with a few issues I had. Lastly, breakfast was actually really good.
Not the most social of places.

Really good location, on the main road in Lanta and literally a 5 min walk to a really nice beach. Overall it was a good hostel, nicely sociable and attracts nice people.
Only 1 shower and 1 toilet on our floor for a lot of people. Close proximity to a mosque so you get woken up by call to prayer, even with decent earplugs (which I have).

The hostel is very well located on the main road and close to the beach access street. Lots of shops and restaurants in the vicinity (N&N restaurant was my go to), plus the hostel also has a restaurant and the fried rice portion is insanely big for only 70 baht!! Breakfast is included and it’s LUSH: eggs your way, toast, jam&butter, fruit, donuts, muffins, and coffee/tea 🤯 I’m coeliac, so I was pretty stoked to be able to have fruits and eggs with my coffee each morning. Towel is provided and they smell nice (so did the bedding). I extended my stay about 5 times hahaha The staff is SUPER friendly and the facilities are very clean.
Not a lot of space to hang wet clothes/towels. No hooks anywhere, but that could easily be fixed. Shower on the third floor has a really strong cat(?) urine smell, although it’s probably not that. The one on the fourth floor doesn’t heat up the water, which is not really an issue for Thailand. Shower on second floor was the best one. Again, a few more hooks on the shower doors would be nice! All in all, still one of the best hostels I stayed in Thailand 😊

Love the privacy in the bed, extra space for small belongings around beds, very nice staff, and quiet, spacious reception. They have very good breakfast too.

We just had an awesome 3-day, 2-night stay at Hub of Joys in Koh Lanta, and wow, the name totally fits the place! We met Jonny, who was super friendly and welcoming. There was also a lovely lady at the reception—think her name was Ra, but I’m not 100% sure. She was an absolute gem, helping us sort out a motorbike rental and giving us tons of great recommendations for exploring the area.
The breakfast was fantastic—free and delicious! You get a fruit platter, omelette, and all the bread you could want. But the real star of the show? Their popcorn machine! It’s right there for you to grab a snack whenever you feel like it.
They’ve also got a small kitchen where they serve some Thai food. We tried the green curry and pad thai, and both were amazing—and super reasonably priced compared to other spots nearby.
The communal area is perfect for chilling and connecting with other travelers, which really adds to the vibe. Honestly, Hub of Joys stole my heart with its unique hospitality. If you’re looking for a laid-back, welcoming spot in Koh Lanta, this is the place to stay.
Thanks for the incredible experience—I’ll definitely be back! 🙏❤️
Nothing.

The staff were absolutely lovely, especially the lady at reception which we did not catch her name but she was the sweetest and most helpful lady. As young girl travellers we felt like we had found a mum in her making us feel very at home and cared for. Any queries about trips, transfers, activities, restaurants and bars she was more than happy to help give advice. This was such a truly special feeling to be so welcomed and looked after. The breakfast was also amazing and included in the price to stay which we could not believe, great value for money. They also gave free water and popcorn. On top of that the food at dinner time was extremely cheap and tasted fantastic. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Honestly one of my favourite hostels in Thailand, and I have stayed in a lot! I cannot fault it. Wonderfully helpful staff; booked my trip with them to Malaysia for a very good price. Bedrooms are clean, spacious and well air conditioned. Has privacy curtains and plenty of room by your bunk for your luggage. Free water and tea and coffee available throughout the day is a bonus and oh my goodness, the breakfast!! The most wonderful included breakfast I have had during my month in Thailand. Eggs, fruit, toast and coffee. A must stay while in Ko Lanta.
I loved everything.

The staff were very helpful and welcoming. There were laundry options there and the room was a good size.
It got hot when the AC went off during the daytime. The bathroom was generally clean but the ceiling showed some signs of mould.

only a 2 minute walk from long beach.
room were tiny so nowhere to put suitcases/ backpacks. paint is chipped everywhere and i had no sleep because it was like sleeping on a slab of concrete. also a weird smell coming from the room and toilets

Hostel close to Long Beach. Theres small grocery stores close by too - 7/11 is a bit far but its ok. Beds are comfy enough
They should provide at least toilet slippers. Its disgusting when people go to the toilet, bare fewt and all and straight to their bed. Theres no point in not allowing footwear past the door if you dont have slippers for the toilet

I very much enjoyed the rapport that i built with the staff, who were always very helpfu and friendly.
Thank You to Pra especially!
Always being asked for help with something and she always helps to the best of her ability!
I also liked that the breakfast was included within the price and I got to meet lots of lovely people at breakfast :)
It is only a 7 minute walk from the beach so it was perfect location for me.
The tv in my foyer was playing aggressive hollywood movies.
I don't like that vibe.
I dont think anyone else noticed so uch, but i know that it effects us subconsciously.
Some nice music, like in the main room where the breakfast is served would be great :)

Good location, 2 minute walk to the beach and lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Staff are super helpful and friendly, will help you get around the island and book trips for you. Bed curtains give loads of privacy.
Rooms look a little dreary just being concrete but that's a minor thing. Only a few showers and toilets for the whole hostel.

Have been traveling last 10 years almost continuously, and never seen hotel this comfortable, this clean, this thoughtful and with this much service … my four day plan was extended to three weeks and lots of people do the same and we all became like a family!
Cleaning the bathroom very often, Stacy bunk, so many free facilities available, superb breakfast, snorkel, beach mat, beach balls, and even bicycles! And I love there is guitars as well!

It's super easy to meet a lot of people here! The breakfast is great, and they have good dinner options as well! The dorms are clean, the beds have curtains, and you can rent a motorbike here.
I arrived with a bad cold and not feeling great, but I got even more sick (pneumonia) during my stay. I had a fever, was coughing my lungs out, and had a very bad cold. I booked a private room somewhere else because of that, but I wasn't allowed to stay one more hour in my dorm until I was picked up by the taxi. I understand that my bed needs to be cleaned, but I was obviously doing very bad, and she didn't really seem to care

The free breakfast was amazing and the curtain around the bed made it feel very private. The location was good and it was cheap to rent a scooter from the hostel too!
The check in process was very long due to there only being one member of staff dealing with everything (she was doing an amazing job)!

The hostel location is very strategic, just like 3 minutes to the nice beach. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. The inclusive breakfast was beyond my expextation for the bed price I paid. The bed was very clean and comfy with curtain. The electric door lock was safe. The staff were super friendly and helpful with your inquiries. It's a social hostel but not loud with party. Highly recommended.
The only downside for me is the shower is a bit small and it could be damp sometimes.

You can buy food at the hostel for a good price and they cook really well.
The hostel is very social but also has space for relaxing

Smiling and very helpful staff. They can organise your transportation or scooter rental as well. Breakfast was amazing. The location is great, just a short walk from the beach and loads of mini markets, cafes, bars and restaurants.
The toilet paper was often missing in the toilet.

Lovely staff, good location near the beach and free breakfast which is amazing for the cost
Only thing was construction right outside the property so not proper access I actually fell through the floor one evening as they have some makeshift stairs
