Jasmine Cottage

James was friendly and helpful. Beautiful location and easy to find if you are coming from Frome. Not so easy from Bristol or North direction (especially in the dark). The breakfast presentation and the quality of the food was was lovely and James had a welcome cup of tea/coffee ready for us. He allowed us to explore the grounds too.

The pressure in the shower was quite low. It was very hot for the 2 nights we stayed and we had to keep windows open overnight for a through breeze because James did not have a fan available. Also, he had a lovely spread of fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice available and a variety of cereals, but didn't ask us what kind of eggs we wanted (fried first day, omelette second) and didn't offer more toast (only one slice each) . It would have been nice to have been asked how we would like our eggs and how many etc.

A wonderfully peaceful stay at Jasmine Cottage My friend Sarah and I had a wonderful stay at Jasmine Cottage and would thoroughly recommend it. James was a delightful host and made us feel very welcome. One of the highlights of our stay was the home-cooked breakfast each morning, accompanied by a lovely and varied selection of continental choices. It was a real treat and certainly set us up for a day of exploring. The cottage itself was charming, beautifully clean and very comfortable, but what we particularly loved was how peaceful and relaxing it was. In the evenings we would sit with a bottle of wine, listening to the owl hooting and watching the bats flying past. It was a lovely way to end the day and one of our favourite memories of our stay. Jasmine Cottage is also a great base for exploring this beautiful part of Somerset. Frome is only about 10 minutes away and is well worth a visit, particularly Catherine Hill with its wonderful independent shops. We also loved nearby Nunney, with its historic moated castle, which is definitely worth a visit. Bath is very accessible too. Odd Down Park & Ride is only around a 20-minute drive away and is a brilliant way to get into the city. At less than £4 per person for a return journey, with buses running frequently, we thought it was an absolute bargain. Finally, I have to mention the exceptional customer service. I realised after returning home that I had left a couple of items of clothing behind. James very kindly packaged them up and posted them back to me and would not accept any payment for doing so. Instead, we agreed that I would make a donation to a local charity. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really summed up the warmth and hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. We came away feeling that we had found somewhere rather special. Peaceful, comfortable, welcoming and perfectly situated for exploring the area — Sarah and I would happily return.

The location and the property didn't disappoint; both were attractive, welcoming, relaxing and comfortable. Our host, James, was excellent; he offered us a hot drink and cake on arrival, cooked a tasty attractively presented breakfast on both mornings and even offered to make sandwiches for our day's trip out . James is a very welcoming and fascinating gentleman. We thoroughly enjoyed the interesting conversations we shared during breakfast times. His hospitality really elevated the stay, which provided an excellent bonus we hadn't previously anticipated. We departed very happy.

Friendly host who made us feel very welcome. Excellent breakfast and comfortable accommodation. Beautiful, quiet location with plenty of parking.

The water pressure was a bit weak, but that could be because of the very dry weather we are currently experiencing, and is certainly beyond the owner’s control.
