As a place to rest your head in a large group it’s ideal.
Location was ideal and it’s a great base for a large group. multiple beds maximising use of space. Pubs and cafes very close
Starting to look a bit run down (cracked tile in bathroom which is very sharp and dangerous, paint flaking etc) Not sure the communal areas could manage 7+ people without it being too crowded.

Very roomy for small groups. Clean and Practical
Great kitchen and heating facilities. Shower a bit awkward but still good pressure. Host available to speak to. A lot of room though it must be cramped if more than about 6 people stay there. Tea and coffee provided was good
Bed a bit uncomfy. Getting in was a bit difficult as instructions slightly different from advance info. Same went for heating. Took a lot of figuring out

It only had 1 bathroom for 10 people that’s not great, and the bath/shower mixer really needs to be a proper shower. And could do with some maintenance on the property.

Disappointed
Location was amazing as was communication from the host.
It was extremely noisy until nearly midnight due to beer garden at rear of property. Oven / gas rings didn’t work so had to waste food items purchased for breakfast. Had to buy batteries as TV remote didn’t work. Dishes / cups in cupboards were dirty. Lots of cobwebs around. Superficially great but needs a deep clean.

Good location, nice property, ideal for groups visiting York
Beds were comfortable. House was clean and tidy. Great location, just a short walk from the centre and train station and lots of nice cafes and shops close by. We were allowed to check in early to drop our bags off which was brilliant and helped us out massively. The living area was a good space for us to all sit together as a group. Tea, coffee and milk provided was a nice touch.
One bathroom between 8 of us was a bit tricky but we managed. We couldn’t get the gas oven to work. It wouldn’t ignite without using a lighter and even then it didn’t work properly and there weren’t any instructions for it but there were for other appliances. We had brought a pizza to cook but ended up having to throw it away as we couldn’t get the oven to work properly and didn’t feel safe constantly putting the gas on to try get it to light properly.

I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone else.
The property had enough space for the group in the living space and in all the bedrooms.
There was not enough cutlery for the group. The house supposedly sleeps 12 but there was only 3 forks. The ignition on the oven didn’t work so we needed to use a lighter to light it in order to cook food. The oven would only light if enough gas built up which was extremely dangerous and unsafe. The were marks on the walls from decorations (blue tack, sellotape etc) from previous people. Only one black bin liner was left for us to use which wasn’t enough for the rubbish produced by 10 people. When we then went to put our rubbish in the outside bins there were already full. The kettle was full of limescale.
