    Extremely disappointed — left after the second night, £500 down, we had to leave today due to it being such an uncomfortable stay. We were really looking forward to staying here, but had to cut our trip short after the second night due to a persistent sewer smell coming into the room, which the whole property seemed to have slept on rather than addressed. A number of other issues compounded the experience: No shower gel provided — only shampoo Two old loaves of bread left in the kitchen cupboard from a previous stay The sofa was rock hard and genuinely uncomfortable to sit on, as were the arm chairs Most concerning: on our first day, housekeeping left our room door wide open for hours, with our laptops and other valuables in plain view When we raised the smell and house keeping issues with reception, we were simply told "I'll let the manager know" — no urgency, no follow-up, no resolution. We ended up leaving early having paid around £500 for a trip that was completely ruined. For a newly opened apartment hotel, I expected far more attention to basic cleanliness, security, and guest care. None of these issues were addressed during our stay. I can't recommend it in its current state.

    Very friendly, cheerful and helpful reception staff. All facilities were very clean and the building had a relaxed airy well-kept feel about it. Excellent location for visiting York city especially if travelling by train.
