Kalogiannis Apartments (AcquaBlue & SunnyShades)

L’appartement est spacieux, propre, joliment aménagé. La hauteur sous plafond est impressionnante, on se rend compte que placé que les pièces sont bien plus vastes qu’on le penserait sur les photos. Et la terrasse… exceptionnelle ! Notre séjour à 4 en famille a été vraiment génial 👍 Et Vicky et son mari sont d’une rare gentillesse. On recommande à 100% !

Our hosts were lovely! Very warm, welcoming, helpful and quick to respond to all messages. When we needed more water, they brought it to us in less than five minutes! The apartment was very clean and had enough room for our family of five to stay comfortably. The location was great - just an easy five minute walk from the ferry port, close to lots of restaurants and shops. We loved exploring the surrounding area and found it very charming. We had no problems with the wifi. We also enjoyed the views from the roof!

The only bummer was that the two single beds were creaky and woke our kids when they moved around in their sleep at night.

The apartment is in a traditional older house in Hydra; it is large with a high ceiling, reasonably furnished, and some parts have been renovated. There is a rooftop terrace reachable by narrow stairs, with really lovely views; it is shared by the 2nd apartment in the house. Nice for a breakfast! On arrival, we were met at a place close to the house by Gina who walked us to the house and was a very helpful contact during our stay. The house is a short walk from the port, in the vicinity of a supermarket and a number of good restaurants and nice cafes.

The main downside was the kitchen. The stove and the kitchen sink should have been replaced long time ago; they are run-down, rusty and extremely uninviting for food preparation. There are just a couple of hardly usable pots, and the old and worn-down base cabinets are largely empty. So we ended with fixing just a simple breakfast and not cooking meals at all, although we always rent an apartment with an equipped kitchen just for that reason. The bed was not comfortable, it also had a plastic-covered undersheet that made the bedsheet damp and clamy. The internet connection was extremely slow, underpowered. Luckily, wifi worked well in the cafes. The bathroom needs a deep cleaning. Although Hydra is not that cheap in general, still, the price-quality ratio was simply not OK. Luckily, Hydra is beautiful and full of hospitable places, so one doesn't have to spend a lot of time in the apartment, therefore it didn't ruin the stay.
