Porto Alegria Garden

The communication was good, quick responses. They arranged for us to be picked up from the airport. We arrived at the hotel after 10pm so had to pay a small fee. Paulo met us when we arrived. He was friendly and helpful. We ordered breakfast for the first morning. We loved it. Orange juice, pastries, bread rolls, ham, cheese, jam, butter, milk. We loved the room. Lots of room. Comfy bed. Nice warm shower. Everything was clean. The kitchenette had a sink, fridge, some crockery and utensils and a coffee machine. We loved our little balcony. Most main sites were within about 20 min walk. A couple of times we caught the bus back to the hotel because it was an uphill walk back to the hotel. It was good to have the air conditioning as some nights were quite warm and the shutters kept the nice and dark at night.

Although the road outside was not busy, because the surface is cobbled it could be a bit noisy, however we did get used to it and it didn't really bother us.

The garden

One window didn’t close

This stay completely blew away my expectations, a beautiful room in a beautiful area, and although I didn’t have any face to face contact with Paulo he was always a message away and happy to help me in any way he could. It was close enough that I could walk anywhere I wanted to go and I always felt completely safe even as a young woman alone walking back at night.

The shower head in my room was a little broken, so it needed to be held in order to shower properly.

In terms of space and layout, it’s great. Has aircon too. And a nice spot, a walk in to town, but enough on the periphery to be somewhat cool and quiet.

I stayed a week and you can hear neighbours thoughts. Snoring, etc. It’s a lovely old place, but that becomes a real issue. Also I didn’t get towels changed or room cleaned once.
