Het Vakwerkhuis

Location was very easy to find and we could easily get there as it is literally next to a main road. The apartament was easily found on Google maps. Thanks to the location you're REALLY close to several attractions and restaurants which is amazing. The interior was lovely and very clean. Exterior as well and provided places to sit outside and chill as well. Comfy couch in living room, excellent kitchen and everything provided: cooking pots, silverware and tableware. We had choice of coffee machines, with cups or pads and there was electric kettle as well. Cooking appliance with oven, refrigirator with freezer part and a dishwasher, but also everything provided to do dishes by hand, which was lovely for us because we used very little. The small (but enough for 2 people) dining table was comfy enough to sit and enjoy a meal without hassle. Two bedrooms: one with single bed and one with double, with cute interior and excellent curtains to close off the light into big bedroom. The smaller one has excellent wooden shutters which made the look complete. The double bed was a high one, matrasses are on the hard side which is excellent. The heating worked as well and there was a heater/cooler provided which could be moved if needed. Bathroom was another very pleasant space: a sink with drawers underneath to store our things, soft towels provided and shower cabin where you can enjoy a good shower after climbing the hills all day.

The windows/walls are not really well insulated, the noise from street could be clearly heard even with windows closed. Lack of ventilation in the bathroom caused a bit of mildew smell in home.

Ik had iets meer verwacht aan faciliteiten en comfort. Het was heel basic, echt meer een pension dan een hotel. De bedden waren niet echt lekker, de verwarming deed het ‘s ochtends niet (wel snel nadat we per app gevraagd hadden of de verwarming aan kon), grote waterkoker maar geen enkel theezakje op de kamer.

Locatie is geweldig! Super centraal, binnen enkele minuten sta je tussen de restaurants in Valkenburg. Gelegen pal naast de Gemeentegrot. Ontvangst was top, zeer vriendelijke mensen. Borg keurig op tijd terug betaald.

Wij hadden het appartement, hadden een upgrade gehad (oorspronkelijk 2 persoonskamer geboekt). Slaapkamer achterin, keuken aan de voorkant en tussenin een ruimte met een bank. Badkamer naast het tussenstuk. Verwarming ging op afstand aan, was warm in de ochtend koud in de avond. Badkamer bleef lang nat, afzuiging voldoet niet. Ventilatie liet te wensen over. En wat wij misten was iets van koffie of thee in de kamer. Wel voldoende middelen om het te zetten (2 koffieautomaten en een waterkoker) maar geen ingrediënten en dat is jammer. Mn vriendin vond het bed goed, ik vond m wat minder (had een soort kuil in mn mattas). De prijs was prima wat locatie betreft. De afwerking/invulling had wel wat beter gemogen.
