We had a great two-night stay at the River Park Inn in San Ignacio while transiting through Belize on our way to Guatemala from Mexico. We arrived in Belize City and organized a private transfer straight to San Ignacio, where we checked into the beautifully rustic River Park Inn. While the rooms are simple and rustic—reflecting the price—they offer a warm welcome. The family running the inn is incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially Bing, who goes above and beyond to help. Their on-site sewing and alterations service was fantastic—we even had trousers mended! Bing can also assist with things like car transfers to the border. Though it’s a simple stay, the inn is ideally located—just a short walk to a great supermarket, a chicken-focused fast-food spot, restaurants, coffee shops - less than 10 minutes’ walk into town.
The town itself is charming and easy to explore. At the inn, you’ll find free coffee and water in the reception, and the grounds are lush with greenery. We were even lucky to spot toucans in the trees nearby, which was a highlight of our visit!
There’s even a friendly dog on site!
Thank you Bing for guiding us across the border into Guatemala - much appreciated.

We love staying at River Park Inn. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, and there was a big part of coffee available in the mornings. It was close to the main strip without being right in the thick of it. It. We especially loved how enclosed it was within nature. We could wake up in the morning and see toucans in the trees. It made our stay!
Everything was great!

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Even gave us a ride to our friend's hotel on the other side of town after check-out. Beds were comfy. Location was walkable to town.
We did have hot water the first night, which sucked. Reported it the next night, and the owner provided a key to another open room so we could use that shower. He also immediately brought maintenance to see the problem. Repairs couldn't be made during our stay, but the owner did everything right. Place is older, but we weren't expecting anything fancy.

I love the location of the property because it was close to restaurants and the downtown market. There were lots of fruit trees, and beautiful bushes and plants everywhere!
The Wi-Fi was available, but it was not strong enough during certain parts of the day.

The room is basic but functional. Hot water and toiletries provided. Ac works very well
The staff are welcoming and helpful with any information/ advice about the area or activities. There is hot water and coffee/ tea provided at reception for guests. There is a supermarket 5 mins away. Downtown San ignacio is about a 10 minute walk away. Everything is easily accessible.

This was reasonably priced stay and perfectly located near the market square. Room has a large table and a bar fridge. The bathroom was adequate, hot water was on demand. Check in was easy and the area has more than enough parking which appeared to be really safe.
We are not fussy travelers but we were able to hear every single crack and movement that happened outside from our bed... which meant the same from inside out I'm sure.
The sheets were super thin. In all fairness we did not get a chance to ask for another option as our itinerary was strict but it was almost better to sleep without them; they were thin and uncomfortable.
We stayed at a corner room, which was pretty lovely and while the building was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the flashing lights beamed directly in our room and unfortunately reflecting off the mirror. I think next time there needs to be a curfew for the lights, we had a hard time falling asleep but didn't want to be grinchy and ask for them to be turned off

Nice accommodation and very big and cool balcony. Comfortable beds and friendly stuff. There is free drinking water and we were able to borrow dishes. And a fridge was placed in our room when they saw we had fruits in the room. Nice location and many bus and tour pick-up points were within walking distance from there.
Our room had two beds but only one bedside table. Unfortunately, there was no storage space, no dressers, decorations, or anything like that. The room served its purpose and was adequate, but not exactly cozy.

Location (7-10 min walk from center), Staff is super lovely, good atmosphere, AC works great
Nothing relevant to mention. It is a simple room, but with all the basics needed

The location is excellent and is in a quiet location. Just a short, 5-minute walk to the town area. I was driving a rental car, so the free private parking was great.

It was a perfect location just outside of town but easy enough to walk in. The owner was super helpful with questions and when we needed to do laundry. There is no frills but you get what you pay for. It was very inexpensive (about $50usd/night for 2 beds). Clean linens and bathroom. There is a fridge and they have cute chairs outside of the rooms to lounge in. We were gone most of the days out exploring so really just came back to shower and sleep so it was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend.
The only thing I would recommend to the hotel is maybe including a light blanket on the beds. The AC works GREAT! But even with it off, I like more than just a thin sheet on me when I sleep.

The family who managed this hotel were very very helpful!.Large room which was quiet, hot shower as well. . Easy walk into town for restaurants. All very good!
It was all very good indeed!

The hotel is on the edge of town, but close to one or two good restaurants and a nice French bakery. The main centre is walkable. The grounds are green and full of plants and trees, and we received a friendly welcome. There were chairs outside our room on the shared balcony and the room had a fridge. Free Wi-Fi was working.
For the price we paid I had expected the rooms to be nicer. Our double room had a pair of bunkbeds completely blocking the window, so it was extremely gloomy inside, and there was a constant stream of ants walking through the room. The Wi-Fi was OK, but we didn't have a coffee maker, or even any cups - we had expected a few more frills for the money.

Everything was really nice.
The staff were really helpful and helped us arrange a tour.
It's not central but that means it's quiet and only a short walk from the centre of San Ignacio.
Free coffee was a bonus.
Good Aircon.
Nothing I didn't like ...

The owners and staff are very helpful. The room looked like the pictures.
There was no window in the bathroom, consequently it smelt really strange.

Nice terrace and coffee all day long for free. The rooms are clean and WiFi is fast and stabile.
The rooms are very basic, a fridge, a bed, and a small sidetable. There are missing simply storage options. The light is ugly. The whole style of the room hurts ;) green walls, old brown doors, an old air con. Uncomfy and hard pillows. No access to the river anymore.

Lovely location, cute building, comfortable & affordable, and the staff & owner are wonderful. The balcony outside the room was also a lovely place to spend the evening!

my friend and I ended up in one of the cabins on the property. it was spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, not too firm or soft. There was ac and it worked well. The proprietor helped us immensely on the trip. He helped arrange tours for us, got us items we needed, and was generally very generous. The room was cleaned daily, which was great. The property is about ten minutes from town, walking, not in the middle of everything, but not super far removed either.
we really enjoyed our stay, and you will too as long as you know you’re staying somewhere a little further out that’s a little more rustic than your typical hotel. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. overall, it was great!

Nice little property on the edge of town, a quick walk to restaurants ect. It was very quite with few people around when we stayed. The owner and his staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms were a bit outdated. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable and the AC did not cool the room to a comfortable temp.

Quiet and comfortable, staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. very serene property with a big garden with trees and tropical birds. It’s a bit outside of town and the walk can be a little bit of a slog if you’re just getting accustomed to heat and humidity. But otherwise it’s really lovely for a budget option - very clean, simple and comfortable rooms. A great option to explore jungle and caves around San Ignacio
being removed from town a bit, a breakfast option at hotel would be great, but a pot of strong coffee is made upon request each morning

I loved having my morning coffee on the balcony with the parrots right next to me in the trees. Our sheets were changed every day, coffee was ready on the balcony no matter how early I got up! The owner took us on a tour of their fruit trees and even shared their mangos with us and kindly gave us a cutting board and knife so that we could try various fruits from the market each day. We went for a dip in the river and enjoyed the peace of being out of the center of the city. Easy walk to town - the owner’s son-in-law brought us to the airport efficiently and in a nice car with A/C. Friends that stayed in town were jealous of the amenities and very fair price. We will be back!
Nothing!

The location was a 5 min walk from the city or a 2$ taxi ride. Family owned, great owner, super friendly and trustworthy. We woke up to chickens every morning, my daughter and I loved it.
Very clean, came with a large fridge, not sure if all rooms have this.
Ac works great, I felt safe and comfortable!
Being woken up by roosters at 6AM but I’m used to it with my daughter so I didn’t mind.

Bin the owner was sweet. The location was perfect only a short walk to the market and down town.
We stayed with our family. Four kids and grandparents on a trip around Belize. Air condition was extra bonus during hot night. Short walk to the river for some nice swimming.

The location was absolutely beautiful. Bing the owner has a beautiful property with a trail down to the river. It is full of fruit trees which he offered freely. As a plant person - I loved this place!

Nice building that shows a lot of British influence from the time it was British Honduras. Had trouble with and the family owned property had staff on hand to take care of it.Felt very safe and was close to town. Walking distance to the market.
It was what I hoped it would be from the listing I saw on Booking. Had a lot of curb appeal. Would recommend for family or single travelers.
