Wonderful location in the quiet northern part of Kyoto close to the Golden pavilion and Ryoanji, all in a cycling distance. The facility and rooms are spacious and beautiful. View of the mountains from the public bath and the swimming pool. Very kind staff who gave all kinds of help. They gave us information about the shared bike system just in front of the ryokan (bike share docomo). There were many futons (Japanese mattresses) in the closet of the room and we could make a double or even triple layers for those who are not used to sleep on the tatami floor. Superb Japanese style breakfast and dinner.
The opening hour of the pool was too short (10 am to 4:30 pm). We like to swim before the breakfast and after a walk later in the evening. So it was a little inconvenient for us.

Beautiful grounds, public bath was amazing, kaiseki dinner and breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. I booked the traditional room, with a futon and tatami mats and slept amazing.
