Tibullo Guesthouse

I liked everything about the inn, particularly the inn keeper. The location was wonderful. There is a nice coffee machine that I took full advantage of.

I really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Tibullo Guesthouse. The room was very clean. The ladies who welcomed us were very very lovely and helpful. The location was very good. There was a bus station that went to the airport, just 7 minutes away. The room was near Vatican, and the neighbourhood was not very crowded. The ladies on the property were very helpful and suggested us very good places to eat and were aiming to help us for every need. They allowed us to keep the bagagli there the last day after the check in. This was very good for us since we have a toddler. The bed was comfortable and there was hot water all the time. Bonus was the free coffee 🥰

Nothing, every thing was okay

The lady that received us for check-in was extremely nice, even though she didn’t speak english, we managed to communicate since Italian and Portuguese are similar languages. She showed us and explained everything perfectly. City Tax could only be payed by cash, which is weird but we didn’t mind and they were actually very nice about it because we initially only had enough for more than half of it and needed to go to the ATM to take more cash out, but only did it the next day since it was late when we came back at night. The free drinks for 24h hours was also nice. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room did not look like the one in the pictures but we didn’t mind, it was nice enough for us two. The location was also amazing. Having a fridge and a kettle was also really great!

Once, the hot water stopped working while I was in the middle of my shower, but with the kettle we managed so I could finish it. There was no staff around at the time and we messaged Michelle through booking. But honestly, what makes us give only 6 points was the fact that, on the day of our checkout, it was only 9:30am (checkout is at 10am), a staff member started knocking, I didn’t immediately respond because I was still waking up (I have sleeping issues and take a lot of medication so it takes me a while to come to) and my partner was in the bathroom. To this, the staff member, which we had never seen or talked to, proceeds to go get the keys to our room, opens the door and tells us that it’s 10am and that we need to leave immediately because that was what was agreed. That since we weren’t leaving, she had to come in. This is not only a huge invasion of privacy, but also not true, since it was only 9:30am and we still had 30 minutes till checkout. We had even packed most of our things the night before so we could pack the little rest of it (pajamas and higiene things) in the morning only. This has never happened to us, ever, no matter the type of hotel, guesthouse, whatever it might be. I find this incredibly disturbing and disrespectful. It is not our responsibility that the check-in and check-out are both at 10am and that there’s only 4 rooms available in this guesthouse. We should not be rushed and practically kicked away 30 minutes before checkout because of poor management. Most hotels and guesthouses have 1 hour between check-in and check-out precisely to clean the rooms and prepare them for other guests. Honestly our stay would’ve been otherwise perfect if it wasn’t for this, we didn’t mind the other things because things like that happen. But this, is completely violating and it ended the trip pretty nastily.
