This is a new quaint hotel in beautiful Brienz. The owner was very kind and welcoming.

The owner was very welcoming and hospitable. She even addressed me with my name when I collected my luggage after checking out- I always consider that a sign of a good host ☺️. I tried the restaurant and the food was very nice.
The bathrooms were nice and modern
A hot dish at breakfast would have been nice.
The room was extremely hot, a fan would have been good, especially considering the current hot weather.
The curtains didn’t block much light, so I woke up earlier than I would normally

It was a roomy accommodation with views of the lake across the street and a good location. King sized bed with nice bedding. Mattress is firm. Free parking behind the hotel was nice. Breakfast lady was kind, smiling, and very helpful. Food was nothing special.
Check in was awkward...there is no hotel lobby, and you check-in at the restaurant. Our room was on the second floor facing the lake, and it was very hot. We kept the windows open and it was still hot...no air moving whatsoever, plus we listened to the street/road noise late into the night. Traffic started up at 5 am with motorcycles and big trucks which woke us up. Geez, people, get AC or at least put fans in the room! It would have been nice to have a coffee machine/kettle in the room...pretty bare for what you pay.
