Hôtel Marseille Centre Gare Saint-Charles

Les parties communes sont rénovées et très agréables ! Le personnel était super accueillant et à l’écoute.

Les protections d’oreiller et de matelas en papier n’était pas du tout confortable pour dormir car ça glisse toute la nuit et on se retrouve à devoir reborder plusieurs fois durant la nuit.. la climatisation fuyait dans notre chambre même si on laissait à 22degres.

We needed somewhere close to the railway station for an early train so this was the perfect location. If we stay in Marseille again we'd probably book somewhere else as it's not the nicest area of Marseille but for our purposes this was good. It's just been turned into a Novotel so all the facilities are new and spotless. Reception staff were helpful too.

The room was a little smaller than expected but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The location was great, easy to walk to the station and the port and good transport links for places further away. The bed was comfy (but see below). You could open the windows a little. There was a clever 2-way door in the bathroom so you could shut the bathroom or the toilet off if you were two people using the bathroom/toilet at the same time.Everything seemed very clean.

The feel was very anonymous. There was no bar (even though room service drinks were advertised) and I often feel like having a nightcap in the hotel bar when I get back in the evening. It's not always comfortable as a woman to sit in a public bar at night. The towels were a bit mean and small. I am not a large person but they were difficult to wrap around me. There was a weird plastic mattress topper under the sheet which crackled and made the sheet ruck up. It sounded like a disposable cellophane sheet and made the bed less comfy than it could have been. The staff were very business-like but not very warm. They did not seem terribly happy in their work. All a bit 'desolée'!
