Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had when staying away. Really lovely produce.
Not a fan of enforced service charge which you are politely told by the person who serves you that you can remove it. We would not have added any service charge at any point as the food was very pricey already. Every night we overpaid with the service charge and it wasnt set as to just press no. It was a direct request from the server to tell them if the service charge should be removed. It felt very uncomfortable and made for a not nice end to the meals and added a lot to the final price. This was a shame as effected an otherwise lovely stay and was an uncomfortable experience.

Great pub with rooms. Excellent food and comfortable bed. We loved the Malham Cove/Tarn loop walk from the pub.
We arrived about an hour earlier than check in time and on arrival, instead of the staff member saying: 'Welcome, I'm afraid your room isn't quite ready as check-in is at 3pm' we were greeted with: 'Check-in is at 3pm. You are too early - why have you arrived early? This isn't exactly check-in time, is it?' It was hostile and unnecessary - some staff training would be welcome here.

Since outr last visit we noticed a few things not as good as they were. The menu for evening meals was reduced
Breakfast was poor no offers of toast to go with breakfast the smoked salmon was of s poor quality and the coffee was not drinkable
