The Royal Oak, Settle

I didn't have any breakfast. I came down to see & hear Katie Spencer. She's a guitarist, singer, songwriter from Hull. When I went round to check out the Victoria Hall where she was playing, it was cancelled ! I had a terrible day, because my train from Carlisle to Settle was also cancelled. I had to go via Lancaster & Giggleswick to get to Settle. I had a look at the bookshop across the street from The Royal Oak, (I collect, buy & sell books), then I discovered that the local social club had 2 snooker tables, so I practiced in there, & had a drink. The railway station is nearby, so I won't have far to walk next time I'm in Settle. I'm coming back down from Ayrshire on the 24th of July to hear Katie again, & I am already booked in at The Royal Oak again. I'm hoping everything goes well this time ! Yours in Music, Jeff Coulter.

The chip shop across the road from The Hotel. They don't take the black eyes out of the potatoes, so I won't be going there again. The train journey was awful, & a waste of money, going via Lancaster, but I had no choice.

Does not offer breakfast, but cafe/takeaway next door is amazing. The room we had no access to WiFi which meant I had to purchase additional data for the trip.
