The hotel has a VERY good location and is in a historical building where a famous politician and writer lived before. . There is also a good restaurant nearby where you can try food after recipes from the Bulgarian monasteries. The room is very spacy and quite. All in all, it is a charming place on a little hidden street right in the center of Sofia.
While the hotel being a bit worn out is not an issue for me, I had a terrible experience with the shower cabin: one of the glass doors just collapsed when I was standing in there and tried to close the door. I was lucky that I was not injured and managed to get out of the bathroom.
I was a bit afraid that I would have to explain myself to the receptionist at 4.00 in the morning - fair enough, he didn't accuse me in breaking it. BUT, on the other hand, he didn't apologize at all. I could have been badly injured. He just said 'OK' and explained about the situation and showed the picture.
I still think the hotel is good, but they need to upgrade the shower cabins and their service a bit.

Spacious, great location and really kind staff.
Floor was a little greasy/soap residue and the fridge wasn’t working.

Staff was very friendly.
The smell of cigar smoke, which was so strong in the room. No coffee making facilities in the room. Duvet was too small for two people.
