Usually great but disappointed this one time

The staff was very friendly and the hotel grounds were very well maintained. These are a couple of reasons are why my wife have stayed here no less than 10 times.

This one time, our room smelled like dog and my wife could not enjoy herself stay. Our family is not use to pets. It left my wife with a gross feeling.

Great place for families…not so good for older people.

Location, staff, rooms were all great. Family atmosphere good.

Bed too soft. We both work up with aching backs. Pool noise was not well muffled in the room, and the breakfast crowd overwhelmed the staff. They could not keep up with the food. The shade chains were noisy. Could hear room next door shades going up or down. While we like kids, could hear them running and playing a bit too much, in halls and overhead.

I like the room. I like the pool and jacuzzi. Pool is big enough. I like how convenient the location is to a lot of places especially to costco. I like that the location is easy to find. There are always a lot of parkings. There is microwave and fridge in our room as well as plates and utensils. I like how they designed the room to make division with a curtain, so there will be privacy if somebody sleeps in the sofa bed. I like that there is unlimited water, tea, and coffee in the lobby area. I like that you don’t need to wait too much for the elevator. I like that there are towles provided in the pool area. There is a place where you can stay with families and friends and they will do bonfire at night. Last but not the least. I like that there is free breakfast (7am-10am).

Water in the shower is very poor. This is very important to me. 🙁I hope it can be improve. I hope the water in the pool can be warm. The first staff/receptionist who checked me in was girl and has a very very soft voice that I can’t hear her, she’s nice, but talks very soft like she wants to go home and sleep already.

Exceptional staff, spotlessly clean and a great location.

This is our second time coming to visit from Ireland and we absolutely love this hotel and the location. We love the pool, the self service for breakfast, coffee and teas in the foyer and the service is outstanding and the whole place is spotless. The staff are exceptional. Each one is polite, helpful, pleasant, friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

One and done.

The pool was nice for the kids, but it did get a bit crowded at times. I liked the gym facilities and the free coffee at the entrance.

It's a nice place, but the bed wasn't very comfortable, and the pull-out couch made a lot of noise whenever you moved. The breakfast wasn't great either; the eggs and potatoes were not good. Additionally, there weren't enough plates or silverware for the number of people eating.

Very comfortable rooms an amenities.

Clean, nicely furnished rooms, very convenient for long (or short) stay if you want to have kitchenette access. Also looks new inside.

When we came for breakfast at 9am (was served till 10am) many items were ran out and no-one was restocking them. There was no milk left next to cereals, no muffins left, no fruit, no waffle dough and it was not refilled. Looked like it was a great breakfast but half of it we were not able to have.

We ended our stay early.

Terrible.

We booked this trip to escape the desert heat for a week and get some cool beach air. Much to our chagrin, the window only opened about an inch so we were essentially in the same position as at home...having to run the a/c 24 hours a day. We noticed a leak in the bathroom near the sink/toilet. Breakfast food tasted terrible so we had that added expense each day. Pool was nice...but not one comfortable chair outdoors. We cut our vacation short and returned home early..

Lots to improve upon

Close to interesting places, amenities, free parking

Room appears dated, there was a strong fragrance upon entering the room and not pleasant for people who have allergies/asthma. They could use some new furniture such as their couch. It looks and feels as if it could break anytime soon. Another location (Glendale) of the same brand of hotels had much better facilities. The lights were so bright that it didn’t feel relaxing to use at night. I heard some people (probably kids) running early in the morning and it literally shook the room and you could easily hear them which tells me the rooms aren’t sound proof?

The location is excellent. It was just a few minutes to The Flower Fields and Premium Outlet. The room and bathroom were clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious. We appreciated the free water and coffee in the lobby.

Everything was clean (lobby, pool area, rooms). Free drinks (iced water, coffee and tea in the lobby, good breakfast.

I loved the spaciousness of the king suite and the cleanliness of the hotel. My family and I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Service was friendly and helpful.

Sound proofing in the rooms isn't great. You can hear every little footstep outside of your room.

Convenient location and comfortable facilities

The breakfast provided a wide varity of foods, make your own waffles, bagels, eggs, potatoes, sausage (turkey and regular), fruit, yogurt, cereal, plus juices and coffees. The selections for breakfast were a great way to start the day.

There was really no issues at all with the hotel, room, or facilities. I would stay there again when in Carlsbad and recommend it to others.

Overall I enjoyed my stay but I would not suggest staying on the first floor regardless if you have children.

I enjoyed that the property was close to various restaurants and attractions.

The noise from other rooms ran late into the night. There was a water leak in the room above and the electricity shutdown due to issues outside of the hotel but the issue was resolved within an hour though it was inconvenient.

Overall, pretty good.

We enjoyed the breakfast, and hotel and room is pretty clean and well maintained for the most part, it was great having a kitchenette style room and bigger fridge! Comfortable king mattress! great convenient location, close parking to entrance, and most of the staff were nice and helpful.

Sofa bed was definitely not comfortable to sleep in. We wouldn't recommend it or use it as a bed again, but truly use it just as a sofa. As such, it is comfortable to sit on etc. But once you turn it into a sofa bed, it is not springs, just a flimsy cot that sags a lot and makes loud noises with any single move. The shower water was a bit weak also, It would be nice if the shower head offered more than 1 setting to change to so that the water could come out a bit more abundantly vs weak and low pressure. Many linens and towels strongly smelled like bleach, which I noticed many hotels are like that these days. It's nice knowing that things are pretty well sanitized but it would be best and healthier if they are rinsed more thoroughly to better remove the excess bleach and smell.

Son's 9th Birthday Celebration a Success with HOME2 SUITES.

The whole experience. It was great to be in a hotel where we (wife and I) don't have to worry about how clean and wonderful the room was. Always a pleasure to stay in Home2 Suites Carlsbad. My Son LOVES this hotel. Had a choice of Legoland Hotels or Home2 Suites...He chose Home2. It was his birthday weekend and we enjoyed every minute of it. Location is great, Breakfast is very good, Pool is awesome and kitchenette is outstanding to have in the room. TV was great with all the channels and Netflix. Kudos to the Staff and Front Desk Reps. Paula was so very helpful and courteous. Will be back soon. Manny-A.

It was poor with almost fast food type service, nothing that would be unique or different frute that could not be cut as silverware was so poor that a knife could not cut an apple.

Relaxing and comfortable

Breakfast was very good every morning. The staff was very nice and helpful. Location is great, not too far from the freeway and there is plenty of stores close by

The only thing that I can think of was the sofa bed was a little uncomfortable and the pillows made my neck hurt
