Location and facilities

Very dark room not much natural light. Didn’t matter too much as out a lot but would be nice in the morning.

This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the cathedral—restaurants, cafes, and ice cream shops are just steps away. We stayed in Room 001. The space is small but sufficient for our family of two adults and two kids. The room was clean and well equipped with kitchenware, although we didn’t end up using it.

The only downside was a slight sewage smell. It wasn’t too bad, but something to be aware of, especially during the wet season. Also, if you’re visiting during Holy Week, I recommend traveling with backpacks only or staying outside the old town, as it gets extremely crowded and taxi access is restricted. Also be prepared as the it is pretty noisy during evenings of the Holy Week.

We did not get the room that we booked, paid and checked- in for. Informed by host company on day of our arrival who offered a smaller replacement room and refund to be given when we checked out. Alternatively we could cancel and get full refund! PIN code didn’t not work on our arrival. We had to contact host by WhatsApp and new Piin codes had to be sent 3 times before working which meant waiting outside the building for almost an hour. Communication was poor - mostly by WhatsApp virtual assistants. When we needed to spreak to a real member of team(usually because our questions were not answered by virtual assistant) it took longer than the time suggested- one time was over an hour. One question was not answered at all even though we asked twice and were assured by WhatsApp that the “Responsible Team” would get back to us. Very frustrating. There was no on site reception. Bed side lamps did not work properly and when we contacted the company we were told that it would be fixed the following day - it wasn’t fixed during our stay.
