It had very good staff service and food, beach was very clean.

I didn’t like the it was confusing which restaurants were open, couldn’t find my concierge first day of arrival to make reservations. Cenote was advertised as included in package but when we tried booking it was an expensive travel package. It was unclear where to show up for catamaran snorkeling and we had a walk around asking many staff that were also unaware of where to go for pickup.

El mar justo frente a la playa con sargazos, y al ser mínima la pendiente y la profundidad, agua revuelta, turbia, no apetecía entrar. Pero es producto de condiciones geomorfológicas e hidrodinámicas de la zona y de la temporada. Poco qué hacer por el Hotel para contrarrestarlo. Tuvimos la asesoría de 2 conserjes en la primera hora del arribo. Después fueron inexistentes. Sin embargo encontramos ayuda en el personal del hotel para nuestras inquietudes y solicitudes de reservación. Los horarios de bares y piscina nos parecieron un poco restrictivos, para ser un hotel de solo adultos.

The best thing about this hotel is the amazing staff who are all very friendly and helpful. A special shout out for Angel in Limo Limon who always gave us a warm & cheery welcome for breakfast along with Bertin also in Limo Limon, Salome, Clemente, and Leonardo at the bars and Eleazar and Antonio in the Mexican restaurant. Also our housekeeper who did a fabulous job every day. Other very positive factors are the excellent food - as veggies we found plenty of choice, the good house wine (Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc), the beautifully kept grounds and of course the wonderful beach which was kept clear of seaweed by a continuous and dedicated team clearing it - it must be such a thankless task for them. We liked the whole ambience of the resort - you could choose to be at the party pool or as we did we preferred to be at the quieter end of the beach. The gym is reasonable and we used the kayaks and paddle boards. The resort seems to operate on an early cycle with most people eating breakfast and dinner early and disappearing off to bed once (or before) the entertainment has finished. We operated on a more European daily cycle of eating later and staying up later. The entertainment was ok, especially the live rock acts. The Mexican fiesta evening on the beach was amazing. Finally we were lucky to be upgraded on arrival from a junior suite to a beachfront suite and next time we come we will definitely pay the extra for this because it was such a lovely room in the centre of things close to a pool and bar and just a few yards from the beach.

A few irritations which meant we couldn't quite stretch to a 10 but won't stop us from returning: Firstly the biggest issue - not enough sun loungers on the beach. We really don't like the early morning scramble to reserve loungers. There were loungers reserved and unused all day and some people would reserve a cabana as well as loungers. There is plenty of room on the beach - just provide more loungers ! We like to eat outside and a couple of the restaurants whilst having outside tables did not allow us to sit at them on a couple of occasions. Indeed one restaurant had tables laid but you could only sit at them if you bought a bottle of wine - needless to say we didn't see anyone use them. Queuing for the concierge on a Sunday morning to make dinner reservations for the week ahead is a nuisance - there should be an app for this simple task. The Caribbean restaurant has Jack Fruit on the menu but hasn't had any Jack Fruit for 3 months - take it off the menu !

The location is beautiful and the resort is very nice, if a little dated. The service staff were all friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks were mostly good.

The concierge staff (basically front desk) were not very helpful and often required several reminders to get basic requests accomplished--some requests were never met after several confirmations from front desk. Prices and options would often change based on which concierge we talked to. I was smart enough not to do it, but the 'one hour soft sell' timeshare tour my friend did turned into a three hour hard sell ending in berating and insults from seller. Main resort is older and in some disrepair: our front door didn't close well and our patio door didn't lock at all. Some of the restaurants are under construction and the ones that are open are only open on certain days. No one on the staff seemed to know which days (we got different answers from everyone) and the official schedule was usually wrong.
