This is a great home and has lots of previous memories to share. We love the hominess. and of course it was well stocked , The location is top knotch very close to Moonstone beach and to town ,. We would recommend to anyone who was a quiet and relaxing home with all amenities needed.

This is a beautiful old home set on a beautiful lot with mature trees. It was within walking distance to the little town and you could hear the surf! Very comfortable.

Enjoyed the house. The dog didn’t care for the yard I guess the trees scared him. It would have been nice if the sensor lights stayed on longer as it was awfully dark when taking him out during the night.

The house itself was perfect and had all the amenities we needed. I was slightly thrown off having a separate pick up location for the keys, but that didn’t end up being too out of our way. Also, lots of Spider-friends around. We found one in an entertainment drawer, one in one of the beds, and another one in the bathroom the next morning hanging from the ceiling. Besides that this place was great!

The Brocklebank house met all our needs. The house was clean and everything was in working order. The neighborhood is super quiet and we will definitely consider coming back.

We really liked the location and layout of this home. Everything you could need for a trip was provided; plenty of kitchenware, diningware, towels, blankets etc and all in nice condition. It had a nice deck that we sat out on and had lunch a couple of days. It should be noted though that the dishwasher wasn't great, didn't really clean the top deck; the fridge, microwave and oven could do with updating, and the gas pressure was pretty bad on the stovetop meaning it took a while to heat anything up. We also had some issues with no hot water, however the agent was super responsive when we reported it and came out within an hour, thank you! Overall the issues were fairly minor and we really enjoyed our stay.

This is a well-stocked, comfy, cozy home a 5-10 minute walk down to a beautiful beach. For three of us staying two nights and just wanting to hang out, it was perfect. The fireplace worked great; the kitchen had pretty much all we needed to make some breakfast; WiFi was easy; the beds were pretty comfy; there were cards and games and puzzles (it was rainy!). The yard was beautiful and I wish the weather had been better so we could've enjoyed it.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although in a good location and welcoming to dogs, renter beware. Interior walls and doors have grubby spots and scratches. Bedrooms and corridor have old carpets with an odor. Bed was uncomfortable. A set of window drapes looked like they had been wet from a leak and were starting to grow mold. Outdoor table cover was torn in several places and table needed to be cleaned before use. The rear yard it overlooked was uncared for. On Saturday a nearby party venue played loud music until 10pm. Some effort has been made to make living area comfortable, and although the house has some charm it is teetering on the brink of being unacceptable. It needs more attentive maintenance but even better, updating.

It was well stocked with coffee maker and extra blankets which were newer but there is outdoor furniture for a dining table. the bedrooms have older carpet and are a bit musty. it was pretty well cleaned though a few cobwebs in corners. I actually did not mind the oldness of the house but just was not prepared based on the other reviews. All the legal papers after the purchase was a bit strange as well.

We just got home from 5 days away at this property in Cambria. I have stayed in Cambria numerous times, but always at one of the hotels on the ocean. We wanted something a little more private and down home. This was exactly that. The house is definitely a home and we felt comfortable having our dog there as well as spending a lot of time just chilling on the deck, wandering around the neighborhood, and enjoying being away. This house is older and has a long history of being a family retreat, as their guestbooks attest. It was exactly right. Thanks to the family that’s made it what it is.

We were visiting Cambria to take my daughters engagement photos and rented this house for the weekend. You always take a gamble when you are trying to stay within everyone’s budget, but this house was perfect. There were six adults and two dogs and we all had our own space which was nice. One bathroom was a challenge but we made it work! Also it was amazingly close to downtown Cambria we could have walked if we wanted to! Thank you to the Brocklebank family for sharing their home!

The inside is quaint, and the owners have obviously been making upgrades. The dining room and family room have new hardwood floors, and the stove appears brand new. Furniture is clean and good. The kithcen linoleum was torn and worn a bit, but didn't bother me. I am sure a new kitchen floor won't be far behind. The outside deck is rustic, but the outside table and chairs were covered and in new condition. The BBQ is old but works. No air conditioning but usually not needed in Cambria as it is cool. Record setting 90 degrees during our trip though. Found a small fan in closet to cool house at sundown.Very quiet. Up a hill from the beach, but plenty of parking if you drive your car to the beach like I did. Saw a deer in our the neighborhood.

There is a almost deserted dog beach in San Simeon that is a must visit. Also can recommend Stolo winery as a good place for a mid pandemic social distancing picnic/wine tasting. I rented this house for myself and my 2 boys. The neighborhood was perfect, quiet and residential. It is on the same street as Cal Fore, so I felt very safe! We met the neighbors, very friendly. It is a 10 minute walk to the West Village, we drove to the East. I cooked every morning and evening, and the kitchen was very well appointed. The property was spotless, too. The house is older, but I liked the charm. My only suggestion would be new mattresses and a few more hand towels. I would definitely come again!
