Relaxing escape in beautiful surroundings

Lovely clean cottage with beautiful surroundings and close to the beach. Lots of lovely outside space for us to explore. The owners also left some lovely treats for us in the house. On our last day our car battery died and the owner kindly arranged for someone to come and give us a jump start. We had a brilliant stay.

Fantastic spacy cottage

Fantastic spacy cottage (large fully equiped kitchen with eating table, living room, one bedroom with double bed, another with two separate beds, two bathrooms with toilets, another room with washing mashine and dryer). Calming views on rolling pastures and Dunnet bay with dunes. Very kind host. Cereals, milk, butter, bread, fresh fruits provided at arrival. Samples of local spiritis. Simply perfect holiday haven.

Absolutely fabulous self catering property. Exceptional size and very well thought out both for able bodied and wheelchair users. Breakfast cereals and milk and fruit was all provided for, also samples of local tipples. George welcomed us upon our arrival and gave us a brief history of the area.

Great place to stay, near beach and many places of interest

Beautiful location, overlooking fields to sand dunes and the sea. Cottage spacious, warm and comfortable. Goody basket outstanding, as were instructions for appliances.

Foam mattress toppers would have made the beds more comfortable.

Loved visiting the newly born lambs, highly recommended.

I visited Bayview Cottage for work and combined it with a family trip away. The cottage was very well presented, warm and cozy. Check-in was straightforward with a keylock by the front door, George had left, some breakfast essentials and milk in the fridge. The cottage has a very large double bedroom and a comfortably sized twin room, a cozy sitting area, and a kitchen that overlooks fields and Castletown beech. The cottage was well equipped, with extra duvets, pillows, and plenty of utensils in the kitchen. The utility room is great to get muddy beach clothes washed and dried, with a walk-in wet room shower and separate bath. We had several trips to the beach which was lovely, but make to pack thick jackets as it can be quite windy (we visited in mid-April). The highlight of our stay was our girls (2&4 years) getting to go to the barn and see the little lambs with George and Gayle, great experience. Plenty of places and things to explore, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back. Highly recommended.

The Wifi was reasonably but dropped out a little bit, it didn't really bother us. 4G signal is again okay.

Such an amazing place to stay!

Bayview Cottages was an absolute delight. We arrived around 4pm and couldn't believe the beautiful view of the bay from the kitchen, the photos don't do it justice! The property itself was fantastic! So spacious, beautiful furniture throughout, and the additional touches the owner has given to make sure you have a special stay really made Bayview Cottage one of the best places we've stayed at, we always rent houses when going on holiday, and we've never been anywhere that provided the extras George did. The bed was so comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need. We loved eating our dinner at the big kitchen table, looking out to the amazing views of the bay. The location was perfect for travelling around the North Coast, we went to Orkney for the day and the ferry terminal was only a 20 minute drive away. The local beaches to Bayview are just stunning and the area was quiet and peaceful but you had less than ten minutes to a large supermarket. We are definitely going to come back to Bayview, we had such a wonderful time, George was friendly and responsive at all times and the whole experience from start to finish was just fantastic. If you are thinking of booking, please do not hesitate, you won't regret it.

Enjoyed the peace and quiet. The small additional "extras" provided were very nice. Excellent location for the beaches, coast, wildlife and local attractions

The couch was a bit wide so you could not lean back comfortably or had to sit with your feet sticking off the end. There was no plug for the sink in one of the bathrooms. There was no bedside cabinet in one of the bedrooms and no drawers for clothes.

Excellent location & very clean cottage

The cottage is less than 10 min walk from one of the most beautiful beach in UK. It is surrounded by quiet country fields and you can see sheep and cows from your window. It is very clean and the host George was super helpful.

The property was amazingly clean and felt very cosy - perfect for a much needed get away in these challenging times. The cottage was ideal for a family of four and we liked the fact that the cottage was stand alone but within a short walk of the beautiful Dunnet beach. The garage was very useful for storing bikes and surf boards. Lovely welcome pack including complimentary drinks from the local distillery. Would definitely recommend booking and would love to come back again.

Nothing really but would be useful to have a roasting tray or big cooking pot for the oven.

Outstanding flat.

Exceptional stay. The flat was spotlessly clean and extremely well-stocked of pretty much anything: food supplies, beverages, towels, more TVs than we could possibly need. Netflix available. Very quiet location, close to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and George is a superb host!
