The good and the bad

+ Very nice staff + Nice pool + Beautifull garden + Good location + Great service

- There was a fungus/mold smell in both the first room attributed but also a lesser strong fungus/mold smell in the second room. Because the first room you cannot give to any guest, we got another room with private pool. Thanks for that!!! Room 502 or 205 needs to be renovated bigtime. - Watch out for the musquitos ;). This side of the island has a lot! - Unreliable shower! Both temperture and pressure. It has to be renovated.

Great place and very relaxed.

Nice rooms. The pool area is a wonderful place to sit and relax, either in the sun or shade, there are plenty of places to choose from. Jenny, the bar person is so very friendly and mixes good drinks.

The upper rooms have lots of stairs and could be a struggle for the less mobile.

The breakfast was really nice with lots of choice. The staff were so friendly and happy to help in any way they could. This was an excellent hotel with a great location, our room had a private pool which was really pleasant.

Clean, great to have pool with room. Great staff. Towels and bedding always changed and rooms spotless. Breakfast really good choice. Water complimentary.

Shower flooded bathroom, mirror too low in by bathroom sink, lots of mosquitoes so make sure you take plenty of repellent and that will keep them away. Would prefer proper sunbeds by main pool, would be more comfortable than the cushioned beds and big cushions they have.

Perfect stay in a beautiful hotel. Amazing staff who are just so lovely.

Average accomodation

The retreat was lovely and the main pool was too with many types of sunbeds available. Acharavi is a much quieter less touristy town but close to other villages well worth visiting. The beach is in walking distance. We found a fabulous restaurant called Pumphouse.

There were problems with our room. The shower drenched the bathroom and our floor was continually wet. On arrival there was pooling water beside the outside door from the Air Conditioning unit and even though that was repaired the water continually splashed on our deck from the ACon unit unit outside. Therefore the deck was unusable. The plunge pool was freezing and not worth the price for the room. The telephone didn't work and was not replaced in our 5 day stay. Sheets that fit the bed are mandatory. They could not be tucked in at the top of the bed so we had to continually get out of bed and pull the bottom sheet up. The floor on our room was only given a very wet mop and never vacuumed for 5 days. We had to dry it with a towel and they were in short supply. A towel for the pool always had to be requested at reception. Breakfast consisted of mostly pastries and cake. A fried egg option, scrambled egg etc was not available. Only peaches were provided for plain yoghurt. The staff lacked English skills

Very nice and hospitable staff that go the extra mile in order to serve you. We recommend to stay here for a few relaxing days in Corfu enjoying the pool and the sun.

Very peaceful hideaway in the north of Corfu.

The location was very peaceful. It made for a tranquil few days. There was an impressive drinks offer that seemed a little over generous in my opinion - but they must have their reasons for running that offer.

I'm sure the impressive food and drinks offer would attract many people but for me it had a negative reaction. When I was looking for a "Boutique Hotel" and this retreat came up, I do expect and am willing to pay a bit more for the 'Boutique' part.

Disappointing!

We planned staying in one of the wedding suites for the end of our vacation in Greece and got highly disappointed as soon as we checked in: - the main problem is definitely the cleanliness! As we arrived, the room and the bathroom were not clean, there was dirt and old hair in the corners and on the floor. We asked for cleaning the room again but nothing did change (someone was in the room but there wasn‘t cleaned) - the whole room is very old and the furniture looks used, in general there was not much furniture in the room at all, the fridge was loud, empty and old as well. In the sitting area, all pillows were missing so it wasn’t comfortable sitting there. - in the bathroom, some towel holders were broken, there were rust stains everywhere and it smelled bad. Furthermore, the bathroom is really small - 2 persons in it would be too much. - we booked the wedding suite mainly for the jacuzzi. But we did not have any privacy as our room had a view to the street where the other hotel guests walked by or were able to look into our room from their balconies. The jacuzzi was based directly in the direction of the street and not to the garden as described when we booked. We also had to keep our curtains closed all the time because everyone was able to have a look into the room. So no privacy at all. We paid a lot of money and expected way much more for that price per night as everyone would expect by a 4 star „luxury“ hotel, but we really got disappointed. So we would not recommend that place.

The hotel defines in its website as an “exclusive collection of 38 premium rooms and suites in lush gardens” and that is “built upon simplicity, the ultimate sophistication, without missing the comforts of luxury”. However we can think of a few points far from such description: 1.Very very small bathroom with rusty shower tap. The shower enclosure didn t close properly 2.Broken mosquito net in the bathroom 3. jacuzzi was not clean, nor the terrasse. We asked for the terrasse to be cleaned, it was never done. 4. Lack of privacy or intimacy even in the honeymoon suites. 5. Enormous qnd noise fridge in the room, quite useless since they don’t even give you a complementary welcoming water. 6. Breakfast was quite basic with nothing fresh… cats asking for food constantly and with wasps all over the place.

The staff, pool areas and breakfast is nice. It’s a great base to explore the east and west coasts of the island. The bottle of wine in our room and the welcome we received was excellent. Nice views from the bedrooms.

We stayed in a double room and we were quite disappointed. It was not up to standard as everything seemed quite dated and unloved. The pictures of the room on the website are not quite what they are in real life. The bathrooms are tiny. The breakfast is good, but they shouldn’t allow other guests to smoke in the breakfast area, it’s really revolting. This hotel overall is nice, but with a few light touches and care it could be lovely.. like the option of proper coffee in the morning not just the machine instant. These sorts of things could make such a difference.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We went for our honeymoon and helped us upgrade our room when a bigger one was available!

Mosquitoes... may have been that season but it was not pleasant!
