Villa Manning Relais

The property was lovely, comfortable and very clean. The gardens were beautiful and the swimming pool quiet with plenty of shade. The staff are next level, they are all delightful and Rosa, Valentina and Rossana are brilliant hosts and made the stay wonderful. The breakfasts were so good with new local things to eat daily. Our room was cleaned every day and new towels always provided. The location was perfect just a few minutes walk from the centre and a fabulous local little cafe just over the road and a great Pizza restaurant opposite.

Beautiful gardens & pool area. Bedroom was nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent each morning. The staff were so welcoming and helpful.

Nothing! It was perfect.

Where to start? 1. Breakfast - amazing! I found it hard to get an idea of what breakfast entailed but all of the reviews were good. Having now experienced it, it’s hard to explain. In the self serve there is cereal (cornflakes and coco pops), cold cuts of meat and cheese, bread (and a toaster) butter, Philadelphia, milk and fruit juices. On your table is a basket containing jams, Nutella, Melba toast. Then, once seated the person on breakfast duty (usually Rosa) brings out a croissant for everyone along with a fresh fruit (different every day), something savoury (again, varies daily) and a sweet tart/cake. You can have eggs any way you like and also fresh coffee. For us Brit’s I’m afraid English breakfast tea is somewhat of a rarity so if you need your tetley I’d suggest taking your own but Rosa’s hand whisked cappuccinos will knock any tea out the park. 2 Location, you are right in the heart of it all. Less than 5 minutes from Corso Italia, 10-15 minutes to the marina, the train station is only 5 minutes away if you can take the stairs but longer if you need a flatter route. There are supermarkets and restaurants right outside the front door. 3 Staff, every one of them a gem. Rosa, if I could package Rosa up and bring her home I would. Her cooking is phenomenal, her parmaggiano is the best thing I’ve ever eaten. She is so knowledgeable about plants, Italian culture, and she’s a natural comedian. She doesn’t speak English but she works google translate like a boss. She tolerated a million questions about Italian cooking culture from my husband and doted on my wee boy. She also does the room cleaning and one day we came back to the room super early because my wee boy was just too hot and tired, she insisted on making sure we had fresh towels and bins and checked in on the wee man the next day (he was just too hot, it was a 37 degree day by 11am). It was touching to see how concerned she was about him.

Unique and beautifully decorated, with an oasis garden and pool. The duplex room was a lovely space for us and our teen daughter. Breakfast was always delicious, served every morning under the pergola by lovely Rosa, who looked after us so well. Location was spot on, so close to the centre, close to so many great restaurants, but the villa and garden felt so serene and quiet in contrast.

There was limited storage for longer stays (we stayed for 10 nights)
