There wasn't much to dislike about this hotel. It had a comfortable bed, a clean room, was in a great location and had a stellar breakfast. The architecture and style in the hotel was well done. The staff was friendly, open and helpful. It makes you want to seek out the other hotels in this collection.

Like all older buildings, getting up and down from room to street involved both stairs and elevators. The ongoing strike kept the waitstaff, kitchen and bell hops off the job. The restaurant was closed, however, the full breakfast and bar continued. On check in, we described how sleep deprived we were to the front desk clerk and he made sure we weren't lugging our extended stay suitcases up and down the short flights of stairs to our room. The staff made up for the negativity of the strike.

Lady of the front desk was amazing, really did the extra mile. Comfortable rooms and beds. Nice historic building. Amazing breakfast with local products.

Lot of noise outside the hotel (weekends).

The location was the best aspect of this stay and the location really was fantastic!

Otherwise, the hotel felt outdated, with furniture in the room scuffed and giving the feeling of being old/dirty. The pricing for our stay was exorbitant compared to what the hotel offered in terms of ambiance and comfort in the room. We stayed in much nicer hotels in Oslo and Lofoten that were nowhere near the price and were much more updated and comfortable. Have stayed at many hotels with Booking and have never given below a 9 on review.
