Hanoi Paon Hotel Spa & Sky Bar

Beds were great. Air conditioning amazing. Staff so so good. Aways willing to help. Very clean. Door men great also. Great bang for bucks.

Breakfast was lovely! I think the hotel is close to many attractions and it was easy to get to. We travelled with kids and the staff were so accommodating with our children and really cared for them. The staff are just all so friendly!!

Our shower head didn't work properly. But it was still possible to shower.

The location is really good to access the lake and the Old Quarter. To be fair to the hotel, it was a transit option for us and we only stayed 2 nights so we didn't use much of the facilities. Staff were all friendly. Very good Vietnamese coffee at breakfast. The gym looked decent but we didn't use it. To be fair to the place, it was fine for what we needed as a base for bags as we transmitted through but having stayed in Hanoi for 8 nights a couple of weeks earlier, we'd have struggled with the size of the rooms if we'd stayed for longer. But we knew this when we booked.

The rooms are very basic and ours smelled very badly of garlic (I love garlic but not really in the bedroom). There are no windows which you can open to get rid of the smell. The pool is misleading by the photos and is quite small. We saw 5 young children in it and there was probably room for another 10 before you wouldn't be able to avoid touching someone. Not really a pool to swim in but good for kids yo cool down in sticky weather. The breakfadt room is on the top floor but the lift only goes to floor 10. It was fine for us but if you've got mobility problems you may struggle to access two steep flights of steps to get to the food area.
