Fantastic place! Such an inspiring example of eco-tourism at its best! Embedded within, and owned by, the local isiXhosa community, Bulungula offers visitors a truly unique experience. Safe, comfortable, so welcoming and spectacularly beautiful! I read earlier negative reviews about some of the facilities and so I was very pleased to see the recent upgrades. These include a lovely communal kitchen and lounge area and extended outside patio. We rented an en-suite hut (everything worked perfectly) and extra beds in the dorm for the young adults in our group. Everyone was very happy with their accommodation. We self-catered on a couple of the nights and enjoyed the delicious local cuisine in the restaurant on other nights. Friday pizza evening was especially fun and delicious! Be sure to sample the traditional bread. Over the week there, we also enjoyed birdwatching (very successful), fishing (less successful) and magnificent beach bonfires. I couldn't recommend this place more highly! Its well worth the bumpy roads - honestly, paradise!
