So many mosquitoes bite during my stay

Property is very close to beach

So many mosquitoes and mosquitoes come inside room due to some broken windows. I got almost 20 mosquito bumps in 1 night and cause me sick.

5* location, 5* staff

I’m staying in a room with a view of the beach that I can be standing on in twenty paces. The staff are lovely, the food is good and I am staying at a place where I can be on the beach in a heartbeat. OK, the bathroom is tired, the room could be brighter but, and it’s a big but, for less than the cost of a pizza in Europe I am being looked after by wonderful people in a 5* location. One more thing, it’s fun to stay here.

Ok for knowing Jemeluk beach.

On Jemeluk beach, so perfect location for snorkeling. The breakfast is ok and the staff is nice. We stayed 2 nights. It’s was ok.

Low season, so the place was full of works. It was not dirty, but not too clean as well. The location is good for going to snorkel, but not too much for going to other places. A bit noisy due to the traffic in the evening, but it stops during the night.

Lovely stay in a charming hotel

Clean, cosy room with rustic charm. This is perfect budget accommodation. I loved the big bed, the spacious room and the generous balcony with a sea view. The hotel is right on the beach, away from too much noise. The restaurant is lovely and relaxing, overlooking the beach. Perfect location if you want to snorkel and the hotel rent goggles and flippers to guests. The staff are so friendly. They learnt my name straight away and were really accommodating. They helped me when I cut my ankle while snorkelling and took me to the medical centre. I really appreciated their help and kindness. I wanted to extend my stay but sadly my room was already booked.

Everything was great. Bear in mind this is budget accommodation and offers good value for money.

Great location and comfortable.

We enjoyed our 6 night stay at the Blue Star. We had bungalow #1 with direct access to a loverly beach. Plenty of snorkelling opertunity right out front of the hotel. Food at the restaurant was basic but good and staff happy and helpful. Although a little tired and need of renovation it was clean and comfortable.

Nothing to dislike at this price point.

The reef is at your door!

There’s nothing fancy about this place, except an amazing coral reef is at the door! Hire snorkelling gear from reception and you’re ready to go. You can also hang in the shaded deck chairs and have freshly made food and drinks within when you need a break from the reef. And the food is terrific; I ate dinner there every night and they even made me vegan pancakes for breakfast. Lovely staff. Rooms are old, but clean and you cannot get closer to the reef. Hint, make sure you have reef shoes or booties. I will be back.

No Internet connection. Not even my own mobile data signal worked.

It is right by a diving spot that you can access from The beach, the staff is very nice and helpful, they rent snorkelling equipment too which is convenient, and the food that they prepare it is good and well priced.

There is absolutely no internet connection, and given the position of the building I was not able to even use my own 4G data, making it impossible to do even the simplest tasks from my room. I had to Come out and walk outside the building or to the beach.

Great location with friendly & very helpful staff.

Perfectly located right on the beachfront....20 steps to breakfast (which was tasty & filling) & 20 more steps to the water's edge. Staff were very friendly, helpful & accommodating. The laundry service was excellent & great value....our clothes were washed, dried & pressed & perfectly cared for. Thank you to Darme & her team for also taking extra care to provide me with GF meals which as a Coeliac, I greatly appreciated. The snorkeling out the front was easy access & enjoyable.

The beds are a bit firmer than our old bones are used to.

Great budget location for swimming and snorkeling.

Good value for money. Basics well provided. Location right on the beach. Good breakfast and free drinking water in rooms.

Shower over the bath needs upgrading . Rooms will need upgrading soon as well. Difficulty walking anywhere as roads in terrible condition.

Location at Jemeluk Bay, you walk out and snorkel off the beach from Blue Star bungalows. So close to the coral reef.

The bungalow was close to a main road so traffic could be heard at night. Beds could be more comfortable. These are nitpicking comments as I thoroughly loved our stay at Blue Star Bungalows

Perfect stay. Amazing value.

Perfect location next to the beach. Excellent breakfast and restaurant. Everything we needed - great AC, snorkelling gear, arranged a snorkel boat trip for us, organised transport to and from airport. Dami and staff were amazing. Expect simple, lovely and clean. Couldn’t ask for more.

Can be noisy, but all properties would be noisy in Amed as it’s a small village on a road.

Exceptional service, friendly staff in a beautiful location!

The staff were exceptional and nothing was ever too much trouble, very friendly and welcoming. Had a wonderful stay at our accommodation, our bungalow was spacious and very comfortable. A beautiful balcony with gorgeous surrounding scenery. The breakfast menu was very yummy with a good variety, and breakfast with a beautiful view of the Ocean. We hired scooters, which made it very easy to get around Amed. Location of accommodation was perfect and easily accessible with plenty of food options near by. Thank you for a wonderful stay, highly recommend!

When we walked out of the room, we immediately entered the garden. from our large patio, we could overlook the whole premise. garden, restaurant and ocean. we could hear the ocean from within our room

The door lock was an old-fashioned lock; you needed two hands to open or close it. But if that is all.........

Simply delightful in every way - Room, Food, Service, People :-)

The room was spacious & comfortable, I loved it's quaint charm. Tea waiting on my verandah each morning was a delight, made better with the view straight to the ocean! Staff were warm, welcoming, helpful and the food was simply DELICIOUS! Morning snorkel and evening swim were the perfect way to start/end my days.

Lovely Simple Welcoming

We booked Blue Star for the snorkelling location, were not disappointed it’s right out front just a few steps. Had ocean view room, simple clean and comfortable. Love the coffee delivery on patio every morning. Addicted to pineapple pancakes for breakfast. Every meal we had was good. Walk out to beach early morning turn left head around the point and you will see Agung in full glory. In the evening head up the hill behind Blue Star to Joli Best View for lovely sunset with a cold beer. The staff are lovely. Special thanks to Darmi and Iluh for making our stay so welcoming. If you have time add Lahangan Sweet to your stay, either sunrise or sunset it’s well worth it.

Best place to stay in Amed if you're here to snorkel

Probably our best stay in Bali! Staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is amazing. This is where are the tours go to go snorkeling... in front of this hotel. the restaurant is solid and can serve good non-spicy food! We stayed 4 nights and didn't really leave except to walk 3 minutes to Blue Earth Village (every night) for great food and an amazing mountain and sunset view. We normally cram a lot into a few days, but there's no need to go anywhere when you're already at the best place!

Not everything worked in the room (a little dated), but the staff were great at trying to fix everything, and at these prices, the rooms were huge. road/town noise can be loud if you stay near the back

Superb

The Bungalows are amazing ....absolutely on the beach - just step into the water and enjoy the snorkling! We had a family room ( which has some steep stairs to the top bedroom) but the beds were really comfy , air-conditioned worked and it was clean. Great value! Extra bonus: a Thermos of hot water, cups and tea will magically arrive on your balcony each morning :)
