Need maintenance and a lot af cleaning. Could be so much better.

When we came the whole place wall covered all over in long dogs hair. The sofa, the cushions, the whole floor. When we sat on the sofa for a minute we were covered in hair too. So we sat only on the wooden dining chairs. Also clouds of hair in the corners and broken glass on the kitchen floor. Obviously no one cleaned the floor (though Molly told us they did it, not true). • no dish soap = how to clean the dishes?? • Oven light broken • Metal sheet dirty • Heater in the bathroom too cold, cold air comes through the • Cold air coming into the bathroom • Light in the kitchen above the microwave broken • another kitchen light broken • Water Kettle does not switch off automatically • Bedroom door latch defective • Living room table extremely wobbly • Washer-dryer full of dogs hair • Vacuum cleaner doesn’t suck properly because of hair • Toilet roll holder broken So i all in all the place is charminh but I woud not go there again. That the baddest experience we had in Scotland so far. We could not feel comfy because it was so dirty

Beautiful scenery: perfect getaway

Everything. This was perfect for us: remote, quiet and peaceful. Everything was catered for and the views were stunning. We stayed over the Christmas period, so bought our food and drink with us from Glasgow, but on arrival on Skye, there was a coop open on Christmas Eve at 4pm, which was still stocked with everything we would have needed. Once settled in the Lodge, we didn't want to leave! The bed was really comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed and the log burner made it very cosy. There was a path down to the beach, just outside our door and we stopped one or two people using it but they weren't close enough to disturb us. The sheep were very entertaining and great company.

The Lodge was a little difficult to find, as it's down a narrow path and through a gate, but this actually added to the privacy and seclusion. After reading previous reviews about the shower pressure, we bought our own shower head which made it a bit better.

Lovely stay thank you!

Beautiful location and loved the decor of the lodge itself. Lovely cosy living room with stove and wonderful big comfy bed with spectacular views and loved our sheep neighbours and the waterfall. Lovely welcome with the bottle of wine- thank you! Plus quick to respond on messages. Jasper our Springer loved it and was just an extra £10 a night.

We couldn't work out how to get the telly to work or connect to the WiFi but it didn't impact our stay at all and could have easily messaged to ask. Take care on the road up to the lodge - take it nice and slow :)

The location is amazing! The walk down to the beach is really wonderful!

We thought the stay was expensive for the amenities. The Lodge is now dated and needs tidy up work, eg chair and settee are grubby and the work surfaces need sanding and re sealing. The decking needs work and the gutter by the door is blocked. Bedroom door will not close. The hot water is too hot. However, the largest problem is the no blind situation in the bedroom on the sky light, which given that we visited in mid summer meant for us, broken sleep. This has been commented on by other guests and not fixed. Parking space is a bit of a challenge for any vehicle above small car size

Whimsical must do for scenery and animal lovers!

The view was INCREDIBLE - I was not expecting such a spectacular sight from the photos. It’s lamb season and the moms snd babies would be out just feet away from us on the patio, magical for an animal lover. Great access to brothers point, easy drive to quirang and old man of storr. Huge bed. Really lovely bath products.

Got chilly at night and we didn’t want to bother with the hassle of a fire, and the portable heating unit took a while to make a difference. Some dishes needed a good scrub before use.

Fantastic place

Awesome place to stay! Incredible views, lovely big comfy bed & log burner. Loved watching the sheep outside and enjoyed the walk to brothers point where we spotted seals. Also really handy to have cooking facilities as there aren’t any eating out options close by.

Amazing rural retreat

Excellent, enclosed, peaceful rural retreat, very spacious. Everything that you may need was there,. Vaulted ceiling in lounge area and bedroom made the place feel very open and comfortable. Nice and warm with the wood burning stove. Bed is large and very comfy and cosy. Complimentary bottle of wine on arrival was very thoughtful and enjoyable. Nice outdoor space with seating. Lovely location in Northern Skye, cabin feels very special when you are there, well worth the trip.

TV was damaged on arrival, messaged about it, however never did receive a response regarding this. Shower is not particularly powerful, however sufficient for needs. Driveway is narrow and a little rough, but taking it slowly is fine.

Breathtaking

The place was spotless and the views were incredible. The lodge is close to all the major attractions up the North end of the island so it is easy to drive to and from. The decor is fantastic and the welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch. The wood burner is a great touch as well for cosy nights in after a day out hiking. The bed was unbelievably comfortable it made it very hard to get up and be productive!

Pleasant

The lodge is set in a beautiful location. The property itself is really charming and the walkway down to the beach and brothers point make this a really nice place for a short stay in Skye.

Unfortunately, there were certain elements which fell short of my expectation, especially as the property was £1,290 for the few nights we stayed. At that premium price you expect there to be no mould on the ceiling of the shower, no obvious damage and marks from previous tenants. Some love and care needs to be injected into the property to bring it back to its glory which I am sure it could be.

Beautiful and Quiet privacy place. Surrounded by sheep and green yard. We visit Isle of Skye in spring, it is chill morning and night(~11°C), house is warm and comfortable. It is joyful experience to look through the window during sunrise and sunset. Facilities are just we need.

A little higher price to own the private place, but still no regret.

Perfect Highlands Hide-away

The lodge is in a beautiful setting right next to landmark Brothers Point which is just a short walk down to the rocky beach. Everything has been considered here from comfort and warmth to kitchen utensils ie garlic crusher etc. There is decking at the front door with a picnic bench and sheep are in the vicinity constantly which is wonderful to wake up to. Short drive to various landmarks and Staffin is very close by. Lovely hot shower, plenty of towels, loo rolls etc. There is even basics like wash up liquid, condiments, tea towels, washing machine capsules etc. Huge comfy bed. Easy to use log burner makes for a cosy night in with Netflix on and a glass of complimentary wine.

You are close to a landmark so be prepared for the odd walker to pass the front to access the public footpath (didn’t bother us). TV had no signal but you have Netflix. Marked down slightly due to a minor issue with the cleaner upon our arrival.

A beautiful birthday stay.

A stunning location on the north-eastern coast of the island. The views were breath-taking and ever-changing. It snowed, which was wonderful. A water main burst due to the cold, leaving all the houses in the area without water for a few hours, however the property managers were there straight away with water supplies whilst it was being fixed.

A welcome folder for how to use the appliances, how to recycle etc would've been handy, but it didn't detract at all from the holiday.

The location and views were much better than expected and shown in the listing it was beautiful with a lovely walk right on the doorstep

peaceful and cosy stay

The cottage is well equipped for the kitchen and for toiletries in the bathroom. There are some really nice touches here which make it great. The space is cosy and comfortable. The bed is listed as a King but it’s actually a super king which was a lovely bonus. The neighbours are sheep, you’ll hear them occasionally when they are being vocal, and mind out when driving to the cottage they are often in the road. There is a space outside to sit and enjoy the amazing views in all directions. All you can hear outside is the nearby waterfall.

There are a couple of things that let it down too, one being the door to the bedroom and the door to the bathroom open onto each other, so in the night you have to close one to open the other which is very frustrating. The tap in the kitchen is not up to the standard of the rest of the place either, it has a mind of its own. There is also a skylight in the bedroom ceiling which has no blind, and when there is over 20 hours of daylight it would be nice to be able to close it.

nice location but the house is not well equipped for winter

beautiful location

the wind noise was really bad in the house. the heaters are not big enough which means you have to use the stove all the time in winter. the toaster was creating a short circuit, was dangerous to use. the bed was too soft. some people might like soft beds but I think the mattress needs to be changed.

A lovely stay, excellent location and would be great anytime of year!

Location was breathtaking with walks right outside the property. So homely with beautiful bedlinen and lovely and warm with abundance of logs. Great to have the use of a washing machine after travelling around Scotland for a few days. Lovely dining table to have breakfast and watch the sunrise. The log fire was just fabulous, we stayed during some very wintery conditions and stormy weather and so was perfect to get cosy.

Could have been a little cleaner, for example grime around the cooker top, hair in the bathroom cupboard bottle tops under the bed from previous guests. Some of the crockery had to be wash before use. There should have been a tablet with information on about the property and no other means of info. A quick text to the owners gave us the answers we needed. We were told the tablet would have been there. Also no Sky or DVD as advertised but there were streaming channels but no mainstream tv. Not a big issue for us but worth mentioning for others.

A cosy home away from home

The Lodge is just lovely! The cosiest place I have stayed in! Very well furnished and all the utensils one might need for a complete self-catering experience were provided. A very comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and a living room which makes you feel at home! The wi-fi was excellent and reliable. It was so relaxing to finish the day by the stove fire.
