Sunrise House

We chose to stay at Sunrise House on the last few days of our NC500 route. We wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy some quiet down time. Sunrise is set well away from the main roads and town and you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. We received a warm greeting from Hugh, Margie and Moon (the dog🐾) and this continued our whole stay. The living space, veranda and bedrooms were all private and very comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning is in the dining room and this was absolutely delicious and all prepared by the lovely Margie. This is a very special place to stay, the views of the moon and sunrise are spectacular and you will feel very looked after by Hugh and Margie but also enjoy your own time too. The photos don't do Sunrise justice, you have to experience it as it's such a heart-warming place. There are beautiful walks nearby, the waterfalls and you're a drive away from Loch Ness. We would highly recommend a relaxing stay at Sunrise 🔆

A most excellent stay indeed. I travelled there with a friend to spend a few days around Loch Ness for an Halloween break and chose the south shores this time as they are much more remote and quieter. Sunrise House is superb, great hosts who are very accommodating and all the peace and quiet you could hope for. The apartment was spotless, well contained and offered all the comfort and facilities, Kitchen, cooker, washing machine, pots and pans and cooking/eating utensils fully stocked. Breakfasts were a real deal in a very comfortable and artistic dining room alongside the apartment with plenty of delightful artwork (much created by the hosts themselves) and we were spoiled every mornng with smoked salmon, perfectly poached eggs, delicious fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, heavenly crispy bacon and a great range of cereals and fresh yoghurt, raspberries and blueberries. Margie our host even graced us both with her homemade jam selection for toast. The bedrooms were so clean and comfotable and very spacious indeed with 2 full bathrooms, a roll-tub bath (upstaires bathroom) and an excellent shower (downstaires bathroom). All we could possibly hope for and more besides, Our hosts are very, very eco-Earth dedicated and committed to full sustainability and this priceless approach thrilled us incredibly. The location is about a mile-and-half from the banks of the great Loch and affords a beautiful walk of trees, tumbling rivers and high-faced mountains en-route. Immensely stunning, I could not fault a single step. Important points to remember: The location is not based in a heavy tourist area whatsoever and is set-up ideally for tranquility and relaxation. The hosts are very accommodating and if there is anything further you need, just ask. It was a real fine experience the whole time; certainly one we will remember for a long time and I hope to definitely return.

A cosy self contained part of the main house. Set in forest near Loch Ness. Downstairs was a kitchen, bathroom and lounge and upstairs a big bedroom with a seperate powder room. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choices. We loved our stay here.
