Useful if attending a wedding at Ballymagarvey

Clean, yet foul.

It was clean, physically. The bed was firm but not uncomfortable. The parking was right next to the door. Those were the only positives. If it wasn't for it's location 1/2 hour drive north from the airport, it would be a total loser.

The place was weird, like some old-school roadside motel in the US. The whole "studio" apartment was like an old motel room, with a small kitchenette crammed in, and the usual desk replaced with a small kitchen table and 3 chairs. One door that opened to the parking, flanked by 2 skinny windows. The light over the sink in the bathroom was broken, and there are no other lights but a cieling lamp in the bathroom, and the two main cieling lights (on one switch) in the main room (this is a lower standard than old US motel rooms). I just managed to get enough body wash soap out of the shower dispenser for one last shower (I only stayed one night, thankfully). Barely enough room between the bed and the couch to squeak past into the bathroom. Terrible sound insulation - when I got there, the guy in the next apartment was literally peeling wallpaper off with a heat gun, and you could hear every bit of it. It was an end unit, with a larger apartment perpendicular on the end of the building. Those residents were heavy smokers, and my "apartment" was in no way airtight. When the wind direction shifted in the night, I was awoken by a foul, used ashtray-like stench pervading my "apartment". I literally had to get up, open the door for a bit (the only source of ventilation) and then go back to bed. I repeated this operation twice. There is no point in claiming this is a smoke-free apartment, at least until the neighbors move away,

Overall I’d definitely recommend this property for value and comfort.

From placing the booking to arriving at the property the communication and staff were great. The property was clean, comfortable and as expected from the listing.

My only flaw was being woken at 04:30am by a tribe of workers from the upstairs rooms loudly coming down and standing around outside my door before filing into vans and slamming doors. This not only woke us but kept us awake for almost an hour. I’m not sure if they stay regularly but it was horrible.

Excellent family trip

Had 4 apartments, setting was nice, perfect for exploring, staff friendly and helpful. Helpful guide in room regarding area etc We really did have a great time would recommend & be happy to come again.

Slight smell in Apartment 1, also found a spot of blood on door frame in bathroom but overall it was a good enjoyable family trip, were very accommodating with kids playing at front of apartments & generally just straight forward down to earth host's.

Good location, perfect for going to emerald park.

Felt a little uneasy to be honest. A man came into our room gone 10 o clock at night saying it was the wrong room and it made me nervous, also I went for a cigarette and as I was there 3 men walked up out of nowhere and stood behind again I felt uneasy.

This is one of the worst experiences we have ever endured, totally unsafe environment.

Close to tayto park

We could not even stay at the property due to a large group of men living beside the apartments drinking vodka, driving motorcycles and no tops on. We felt totally unsafe and the children we terrified we had to leave. Reported to the owners and he was very rude and totally dismissive of it all. Very surprised that booking.com even allow these apartments be advertised with the clear anti social environment. We as a group of 2 families are truly traumatised with what we witnessed yesterday evening. Please people be aware before you book this place especially if you have kids with you!

Not the family friendly stay we expected

The accommodation was basic but as described. It was clean, it had all the basics required for our 1 night stay. We weren't there during the day, but I believe the park area is open and a soft play for children.

Unfortunately this was not the family friendly stay we had anticipated. There were 3 large black portacabins. I believe these were being used for accommodation for groups of men. I surmised these are potentially ?workmen using this a longer term accommodation? We were there with 2 young children and in the evening these groups of men were gathering to smoke and drink alcohol together. This left me feeling a little exposed / uneasy in our ground floor studio style apartment. We went to take the children a walk but encountered a couple of groups of smoking/drinking men. it didn't feel safe. So we returned to our room and closed the blinds up. I had not anticipated this as we had been aware this is used as a children's activity centre.

A HORRENDOUS STAY!

Absolutely nothing. We had a horrendous stay at Tarra View and the follow up communication with the owner, was even worse!!! I certainly would not recommend ANYONE to stay at this property.

The apartment was full of damp and mould. The floors were disgusting with dirt. The towels provided were soaking with damp. None of us were able to shower at the property. We had to leave and visit another property to use the shower facilities. The bathroom/ toilet is within the entrance to another bedroom, meaning that you had to exit your 'bedroom' and enter another bedroom- with 2 people sleeping- to access the toilet. There were men sleeping in lorries at the apartment gate during the night- almost blocking the entrance. The owner lacks professionalism and responsibility. The owner shared details via email of other guests, staying at the property. We booked two apartments and the poor conditions of apartment 3 meant that we all had to stay in one apartment- despite paying for 2. The owner offered no apology, no explanation and no refund. In fact, the business refused to answer phone calls of any kind and were dismissive of our complaint in writing. We are absolutely disgusted and we will never be back .. urging others not to stay also. Do not be fooled by the photos. You can't smell damp from photos.

Very last minute booking due to having to get off a flight to our child who was poorly .the man who let us in to our apartment was so helpful & nice , even took my partner to get some much needed drinks after such a stressful time , Apartment was lovely & ideal for what we needed it for

The double bed in room 1 diffently needs changed was comfortable but creaked on every move I made there was also a loud noise on our first night that woke us all up about 3 in morning went on for about 3 hrs was in bathroom my only suggestion was the pipes 2nd night was fine the maintenance man did check it out but no answers

Rustic rural location a plus but serious cleanliness issues

The rural location and rustic petting farm and playground were lovely. Some serious cleanliness issues Dusty throughout cooker hood, fan and bedroom heater photos. Floors although appeared clean where very dirty my sons feet where black after 5 minutes. Fridge was switched off and milk inside which left a really sour milk smell to apartment. Bathroom very dirty with mould on floor edges. Shower hose really disgusting none of us had a shower due to hygiene issues of apartment. Pictures with this review. Some maintenance issues: broken bathroom sink with no plug, bathroom radiator coming apart and really badly painted. Mould around front window and door also was on window blind. When emptying our bin the next morning the bottom was full of mould. Your hospitality/cleaning staff need sacked as they have let you down badly. Beds a little uncomfortable not hotel quality, although bedding spotless and good quality. A lot of men drinking and smoking outside our door and a fight in next apartment at 3am which woke us all. For the price really disappointed you at least expect clean facilities. Contact number for owners in guest book is invalid also and tv would not connect to internet. If all these issues addressed we actually would return as location is great and apartment adequate for stop over.

Brilliant location, not too far from Emerald Park ideal stay for family’s

It was just a cute cottage with little garden which I loved and a great lay out inside. I loved the little cornflakes and milk for breakfast was so a great idea.

The only thing was the double bed mattress just maybe needs a topper or something but the top single beds amazing comfortable

Cheep and functional. Good space in apartment for one night stay with 3 people. Perfect for self-catering.

Was glad my husband was with me. Felt like we were the only family. All the rest of the patrons seemed to be single men hanging around. No reception. I wouldn't have felt safe here on my own with a child.

Wouldn't stay again

The walls are very thin so it was noisy all night. The apartment that was listed as 2 bedrooms had 1 bed in the kitchen and the other room you had to go through to get to the bathroom. Wasn't suitable for 2 colleagues to stay.
