Good Value in Bern

Very comfortable hostel on the edge of town. Quiet, clean, peaceful with kind staff and good facilities. I was in a 6 bed dorm that worked out great for me, with everyone being very respectful, so I slept well. I liked the hostel well enough to book again for another night during my visit. There's a nice kitchen and common area upstairs with balcony seating that I enjoyed. Buses stop 2 minutes from the hostel and ran very frequently. My stays were really good.

Ban people who snore loudly. This guy has been living here and you should know by now. I paid for a place to sleep. If you rent to someone who makes it impossible for your other guests to sleep, you're stealing from me.

Pleasantly surprised!

Staff was very welcoming. The room, showers, and toilets were all very clean. Breakfast was better than expected. As an added bonus, bus tickets for the duration of our stay were included in the price of our stay.

If visiting Berne, Hostel 77 is an excellent choice.

Hostel 77 was very welcoming. The grounds and shared spaces were spacious and open. Breakfast was included in the price and was massive. Lots of bio products. There was a cafe/bar that was also the reception and check-in area. I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm and there was plenty of room for all. There are lockable places to put your luggage. Don’t forget your lock.

Nothing. At first not being in the city center bothered me, but the space, the senerity and free bus service made me happy that this was where I stayed.

I would like to say that if someone wants respect and comfort, they should go to this hotel.

I don't know where to start about the hotel I stayed in— it was the best hotel experience of my life! As a traveller, I’ve seen many places, but I can’t imagine a better hotel. The staff was extremely welcoming when I arrived; their behaviour was excellent. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive— I have never seen a 5-star hotel that was so tidy, both in the kitchen and the rooms. They also offered great benefits, such as free tickets for public transport in Bern, which allowed me to explore the city for free during my stay. The breakfast was amazing as well. I love this hotel and the country. It was very clean, and the people were wonderful. Anyone who stays there would be lucky! Love from England!

Good Spot for Hostel First-Timers

Clean bed, reasonable room, great breakfast. Location fairly close to a bus line.

Two of the showers are crazy small, would probably be better to combine them into a single shower people can actually wash in.

Beautiful Bern

This hostel was lovely. The facilities were excellent and the staff were very friendly. The room was basic but it had big windows for light and enough storage. The sink in the room was convenient. The shared showers and toilets were very, very clean and there were never any queues at all for them. The bus stop into town was only two minutes walk away. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful making it a great start to the day. The terrace by the shared kitchen was a great place to have drinks, snacks and chats. The equipment in the shared kitchen was impressive. The hostel e mailed us before our arrival with important information so check-in was smooth. It is always a pleasure to come across a nicely run place like this. Thank you.

The best hostel breakfast I’ve ever seen.

Very comfy beds, great WiFi. Very communicative staff. Good areas for socialising that aren’t in the room. Excellent water pressure in the shower. The BREAKFAST: cereals, toast, home made granola, array of yogurts, juices, eggs, the list goes on.

No curtains on the beds. Bit far out of town but there’s a free public transport pass when you check in.

The staffs are very helpful. The room is very clean. The bed is very comfortable.There are many bathrooms and they are clean. The breakfast is sufficient and good quality. For a group of travelers, I would recommend it.

Awesome stay.

The location of the hostel was just 4 stops away from the station/bus stop at the town. It would take less than 10 minutes to reach the town.The hostel was very clean beyond our expectations, There are buses playing every 8 minutes to the town and it was always so easy to take the bus, with just a minute walk to the bus stop. We had taken a double room with shared bathroom and we were thoroughly satisfied with our stay. The receptionist was always very friendly and cheerful and always ready to answer all our queries.The Swiss chocolates kept for the customers was such a kind gesture.The shared kitchen had all the equipments and utensils required for cooking and a nice outdoor and indoor seating to eat food. Though we stayed just for one night we cooked our own food. The breakfast was plentiful and always refilled. Though there wasn't much crowd when we went, the whole ambience was very good and food was also good with plenty of options. Overall a good place to stay and we were thoroughly satisfied with our stay. Thanks to all the staff at the reception and breakfast lounge for taking care of all our requirements and making our stay a very satisfying one.

The hostel seemed like a hotel. The guy in the front desk during the day shift was very helpful! The cleaning was 10/10 and during your stay you get a free pass to use the public transportation (there’s a stop 50m away from the hostel)

Thanks for everything, we feel very satisfied about this hostel.

Before we came here, me and my friends had booked 8 mixed dorm room. When we arrived this hotel, receptionist offered to us 4 mixed room without extra money. Because this room is available. It is very kind. Also they give to us travel tickets. We used to use all buss in the bern town free thanks to this ticket. In addition, breakfast(5/10) and towel are free.

I think, breakfast is not enough and same every day.

It’s situated in a very quiet place close to the downtown. The room was absolutely fabulous and super clean. The toilettes and the showers are separated from each other. The breakfast is jaw-dropping!! I got pretty late to Bern, but the receptionist, Joanna was super kind and helpful. She gave me a map, so I went to discover the city in an old skool way. I got to see everything in 6 hours as she told me how to navigate myself through thr lovely Bern. ☺️ Many thanks from Tibor, Hungary

location is near to city and near to gurtenbahn - easy walking distance. bus stop next to hostel (3-4 stops to city). staff super friendly and helpful. breakfast self-service but all you need, help yourself and friendly staff around (sit inside or outside garden). clean toilets and showers for rooms without own bathroom.

Value for money hostel in Bern

Breakfast was very good. Bread was very fresh. Muesli was divine. There is a range of food including healthy seeds, watermelon and freshly cut apple. Possibility of cappuccino, hot chocolate, espresso etc. Also, premises were always very clean.

It did not look much appealing but it's acceptable. When there are many people, kitchen seems small.

Exceptional

I highly recommend it. Switzerland is known for its high cost of living, but Hostel 77 Bern was very affordable. First of all, the breakfast is abundant, with many items. They also provide warm milk and various other options.(the milk and oatmeal being organic products) They offer fruits too. After having breakfast, I felt satisfied throughout the day. Additionally, the rooms are spacious, allowing plenty of space for personal belongings. They provide clean bed mats, blankets, and pillows with fresh sheets. The shower rooms and toilets are clean and spacious as well. Moreover, all the staff members are very friendly and helpful. When I checked in late and lost my key, they were extremely kind and assisted me. (I hope that others don't have to experience such situations.) I am grateful that they suggested storing my bag in the storage room in case I lost it. Oh, and the transportation is excellent. There is a train station and buses that can take you to tourist attractions about every 10 minutes. If you go to Bern, be sure to visit Hostel 77 Bern. It's the best.
